Smack Talk Centre-Raw!!

Seth Rollins mash up

It’s like skynet went online and half the wrestling world blew up, the other half are f**k!n hypocrites, hating on Seth Rollins one minute, now he’s injured, they throwing get well memes all over the shop. GETTHEF**KOUTTAHERE! I can’t stand those fickle wrestling fans who don’t keep it real…

GRANT BODY – P!

YO! WWE RAW INNA HENGLAN THIS WEEK! A tournament announced to decide the new World Wrestling Federation Champion, and it starts right here!

RAW #1172! HOL’DAT – BLAOW!!!

WWF PROPA TINGZ14,362 Fans in attendance! And that includes some of our very own Smack Talk Centre members! BIG UP!!! But don’t act silly! I will put you on blast!!!

Sh!t is funny because I’ve compared the Shield members to Austin (Ambrose), The Rock (Reigns), and Triple (Rollins). Dude is out up to 9 months at best. You know when he comes back it will be that ovation Triple had in 2002. Was it at MSG? I can’t remember… Answers on a postcard please! Tweet me @MZATheInfamous! Thank You For The Support!

I wonder what Roman Reigns gotta say about this? I mean, he was the #1 contender, but it seems that has been thrown out the window…

Funny thing is, I’m not so interested in the tournament as I am the Undertaker/Wyatt storyline…

Oh boy, Triple Teef talking the truth to Roman Reigns…. if Roman Reigns reminds me of The Rock… (well durr…) could Roman Reigns turn evil at the Survivor Series? Just like The Rock did at the Survivor Series in 98… to me it doesn’t matter whether Reigns turns evil or not.. the fans will feel what they feel about him. Triple… asking Reigns to pretty much join the Authority… Now there’s no Rollins for 9 months… OHHH CRAP Reigns has declined the offer! Take the offer and shove it up his candy @$$? I would have told Triple ‘No’ as well, but in a much nicer way… but now I look at it… if Triple is building towards his match with The Rock at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns is the key…

LET’S START THIS SH!T! Roman Reigns Vs Big Show to kick off the tournament!

STC’S Nicola Box is one of the 14,362 in attendance! We know how she feels about Roman Reigns, I can hear Nicola screaming from here! She feels almost the same as how I feel about Naomi… I hope Naomi’s beautiful @$$ is there this week…

…and so should Nicola scream her head off until her vocal chords are destroyed! Roman Reigns advances… the tournament brackets are now set up…and by that glimpse…it is clear that the Undertaker/Kane/Wyatt storyline WILL continue… which means any fans who thought otherwise I got four words for ya…

Wayne Rooney in the hiz-house! Big up Manchester United! Shout out to my ninja Irah and his brother Icy Fresh! Shout out to STC’s Bossman – Jamie Maverick Shields who might be swimming in his own sperm count!

GRANT BODY – P!!!

Oh dear! Kevin Owens trying to insult the British Crowd and run down the Royal Family just backfired! NEWSFLASH Kevin – WE DON’T CARE ABOUT THE ROYAL FAMILY! Yeah I said it! The day Diana died, it was a WRAP. Maybe we care about Diana’s side of the family…

Good luck to Titus O’Neill… if the mighty John Cena couldn’t test Kevin Owens at first… Titus my ninja – you have NO CHANCE! But hey – The 1-2-3-Kid defeated Razor Ramon, so anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation!

FOR REAL! They doing Undertaker week on the Network all next week??? THAT’S IT!!! But Eddie Guerrero celebrates 10 years after his passing..yo WWE what you gon’ do???

Renée I’m not feeling your dress you wearing… Yo Deano – Talk to your girl!!!

I sincerely hope Becky Lynch beats out Paige’s blodclart… but since Paige is the #1 contender.. I can’t see Becky winning this…

WWE just released the official Survivor Series theme tune. It’s actually not bad… but you know the Infamous Informer always got a better one…

WHOA!!!! Anything CAN happen in the World Wrestling Federation! Becky just out-wrestled Paige! But Paige BEX!!! She put Becky in the PTO submission on the announce table! But did the crowd just boo Charlotte? Nah it couldn’t be so… where’s the cotton buds at – might have to clean out my ears on that one…

OH HELL NO – The two guys I hate – The Miz & Dolph Ziggler are facing each other to advance in the tournament, this is the part where I’m gonna go to the toilet, wash my hands, come back and tell you about what I purchased today…

WWE 50 BOOKSo here I was hunting down that Undertaker 25 Years of Destruction Book, but suddenly the book is hard to obtain. Did the distributors make a fatal error in mot printing enough copies? But I saw this book, It;s a steal at £6… so I snapped the sh!t up…

Alternatively I could tell you who’s on babestation tonight… That Kandi Kay – she is BAAAAAD!

Edmond Mulhall made me do it!

Edmond Mulhall made me do it!

GRANT BODY – P!!!

OH SNAP!!! Crowd chanting -Who Are Ya? To Zeb Colter!! They dropping WHAT chants to him! AAAH SH!T – Zeb is putting England on BLAST! He says Germany tells England what to do! He says soon Vladamir Putin will tell them what to do!!! and England complains about people crossing the borders! WHOA!!! That’s the man YOU supported England fans… you were saying – WE THE PEOPLE and sh!t… I have NO SYMPATHY.

Jesus Have Mercy that Naomi… please Uso can I borrow your wife for a weekend? Like for my 36th Birthday in January? I’mWWE2K16 GRANT BODY -P!in love with your wife. I can’t hold it back! Did you see how Naomi entered the ring? OHHHHHHH!

I don’t know why Natalya is f**k!n around with Team B.A.D. she may have defeated my Naomi but the three of em just f**ked her up and Naomi put the glasses on Natalya while she was caught up in the Bank Statement!! Come on WWE, hand Team BAD the creative keys just like you did New Day!

Now word on the street is I should pay attention to this match… because you internet jabronies splattered the picture/video all over Facebook… Wade Barrett is in the ring with Sheamus running his mouth at Wayne Rooney…. now personally, I’m not a Rooney fan, but that’s another issue altogether. So I’m gonna pay attention to Sheamus Vs Cesaro…

NEXT MANAGER FOR MAN UTD?

NEXT MANAGER FOR MAN UTD?

Sheamus Vs Cesaro could be the show stealer here! Amazing counter techniques by both men the likes of which we have never seen! I said this before I’ll say it again, I don’t think you love Cesaro as you claim, if you really love Cesaro, why isn’t the arena full of Cesaro Section signs? Not just a small area?

GRANT BODY – P!!!

Cesaro killing it with those shoryukens! Rooney loves that sh!t! Barrett BEX! Barrett starts shooting his mouth off – Rooney boxes him in his mouth – BLAOW!!!! OH SH!T!!!!

NEXT MATCH!!! Deano Vs Tyler Sneeze all over his b!tch @$$! He just called Renée ugly, and he got Summer Rae by his side? Seriously guys, you cannot possibly support Tyler Sneeze. He just made The Miz and Ziggler look straighter than Indian hair!

GRANT BODY – P!!!

Come on Deano! BEAT OUT TYLER’S BLODCLART!

Damn! Some kid is angry with Summer Rae/Tyler Sneeze! ‘That’s what you get when you mess with Dolph Ziggler!’ It’s still real to them damnit!!

OH NO!!!! THE NEW DAY ARE HERE!!! Ok let’s hear their Power of Positivity… that’s right! it’s an OUTRAGE!!! 16-man tournament and New Day are not in it? BLOODY DISGRACE!

NEW DAY’S insults to Europe have failed! Oh man!!!! But it doesn’t matter – New Day Vs Neville & Usos should be a thrilling contest, Not sure if it will top Cesaro vs Sheamus though…

They call that move – The Unicorn Stampede… Where all three New Day guys circulate in the corner and stamp out their opponent… I forgot to check if it’s in WWE2K16… if not then it should be in the new moves pack…

So the Tournament Brackets look like this:

WWE title TournamentI heard y’all not feeling the tournament!!! Oh well!!! #WhoeverLosesIWIN!!! You hate when I say that don’t you? It’s because I speak the truth – didn’t I tell you earlier that the Undertaker/Kane/Wyatt storyline is the main thing right now? We celebrating 25 years of the Don of Dons… you can keep your tournament! Truth be told I haven’t cared about the World Wrestling Federation Title holder since The Rock lost the title at WrestleMania 29! That’s due to me being an Undertaker fan!

Here they come, the wannabe Children Of the Corn – The Wyatt Man dem… claims he got Undertaker & Kane’s powers… this should be good… his ‘eulogy’…

British crowd singing ‘the whole world in his hands…’ That’s a NO from me: Grant Cowell!

Bow our heads and give thanks to my Dons??? YOU OUTTA ORDA & BRIGHT!

Where’s your super powers Wyatt? How come you can’t use em?

AAAAAAH SH!T!!!! UNDERTAKER & KANE ARE BACK!!! They have come to f**k up Wyatt! Wyatt tries his usual sh!t, and all his Wyatt boys have appeared… Rowan & Harper – DOUBLE CHOKESLAM – BLAOW! Braun Strowman knocks the Dons down with a double clothesline… but the dons rise up! grabbed Strowman and threw him over the announce table! Then… Wyatt left… Kane kicks him down! Both grab him by the neck – CHOKESLAM – BLAOW!!! Yes Wyatts, you can beat one of them down and there’s 4 of you, but you cannot withstand the combined might of the OGs – the Brothers of Destruction! The only thing I was a little disappointed with, was that Jim Johnston should have played this sh!t because he got it in the production truck, and if he did, it would truly be CURTAINS for the Wyatts!

THE JOBBER BLOGGER #128 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 8/10/14

Jobber-Blogger

The Jobber Blogger

I shall start this off again by Apologising for the delay in last week’s Jobber Blogger. It’s now 11:15pm on Friday, and I’m super tired, but there’s no way I can afford to get behind!
It’s Bound for Glory week, if I miss Impact for even a day it’s then all on top of me again.

Impact saw a slight, minimal increase in the Ratings this week, no doubt due to the Full Metal Mayhem match, but it really is a shame that TNA have put on these awesome matches, and they just don’t draw in the attention they should.
Personally it makes little sense to have this on a Televised show of Impact, rather than say Bound for Glory.
I know they had other plans, but moving this Full Metal Mayhem match to a PPV would have made it all that more special.
I’ve said it the last few weeks running, but the Crowds just don’t seem great, and that can really suck the energy out of a show, especially viewing it edited and obviously taped back to back.
But hey, that’s the current situation, least Impact is putting on History worth matches!

TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 8/10/14

Angelina Love (w/Velvet Sky) vs. Taryn Terrell vs. Madison Rayne – #1 Contender Match – Knockouts Championship

Okay so Impact didn’t kick off with this match, it kicked off with Bobby Roode, MVP and Kenny King, but there’s little point getting into that build up when I have to write down the match later on, so I’ll get to that a little later.

This match as it is, is more confusing.

The Winner of this match will face the Winner of the Bound for Glory match between Havok and Velvet.

It’s a little odd to throw Velvet into a match against Havok as it is, clearly because if Gail got dominated, then Velvet isn’t going to stand much of a chance.

Shame ODB is no longer with TNA because that would have been a better pairing. Even better still would be Lei’D Tapa, and hey, it might happen once she’s had a little more training.

Lei'D Tapa Train
Classic… If I don’t say so myself! 😉

It’s all a bit jumbled up, but obviously TNA only had so much time to fit in as many TV Tapings as possible before they are off Spike TV. So they’ve taped beyond Bound for Glory, hence why BFG can’t have any title matches etc, so it’s more of a One Off Special on a grand scale.

My gripe with Wrestling not being consistent with following the rules when it comes to Faces and Heels always seems to involve Angelina. Of course you could make a good argument for me being as biased as I am.

However should Angelina and Velvet have double teamed anyone in this match (though Velvet did interfere a little) Tenay would have been all over the place for such shenanigans.

Yet as it is, Taryn and Madison double teamed Angelina, and that’s just put down to “putting aside their differences).

The very phrase putting aside their differences also makes it sound like Madison is a heel, which I’m sure she is building to, given she cheated by pulling the Trunks of Taryn to get the win.
It just makes it sound like it’s more defined than it currently is. I like Madison as a face, but she probably is a better heel…. but then, aren’t most?

I don’t see anyone being a Threat to Havok anytime soon, which makes me think someone else might hiding away, like the aforementioned Lei’D Tapa.

James Storm and The Great Sanada vs. Low Ki and Tigre Uno

So one of my absolute favourites – Tigre Uno shined as always in this match. But, what I wanted above all was for Storm to take Uno and bring him into his Revolution.

That didn’t happen… yet.

I’m still hoping, mainly just to give Uno some Air-Time.

I much prefer Sanada in his current role and look, not so much the “Muta” inspired, just a bit more toned down and edgier than he previously was.

Still have no idea why James Storm is creating brightly coloured shiny plastic wearing High Flyers. He doesn’t really “fit” with that style. But I do like his leadership, I’m still hoping for Storm to have a proper World Title run, hopefully next year sometime, and this faction could be his “rise”. Unless of course Muta and Tajiri put a stop to that at BFG. Which given the Japanese crowd, they might play it safe.

Low Ki and Uno both very impressive, it was actually nice to see Storm tangle with the High Flyers for a change, Sanada sprayed the mist at Uno leaving him open for the Last Call Superkick and the Win.

tigre uno fn
How many times have I used this now?… seriously?

Samuel Shaw vs. Bram – Street Fight

I don’t remember if they billed this match as a Street Fight or not? Doesn’t matter, many different names, all the same thing.

I actually don’t know why this match took place. I enjoyed it.

TNA is now claiming Shaw has been and Tattooed his Arms because of his connection / obsession with Gunner.

OF course anyone who remembers, will know Shaw had these Tattoo’s before. But it’s a somewhat clever way to get him out of his Dexter clothes and develop the story…. if not a little weird.

SamShaw

Bram who is still on the rise took quite a beating in this match, which is odd. I actually don’t know who the heel is, or if they are both heels. Are we supposed to like Bram more because he’s successful, or are we supposed to route for Shaw given his redemption and connections to Gunner?

Or are we supposed to dislike them both, but enjoy the match.

I like both Bram and Shaw, and enjoyed the match. Option D…. or C. I didn’t check.
Also Math.

Also… Also.

also elmo
I didn’t know Bram was married to WWE’s NXT Women’s Champion, I know Bram was released from the WWE. But it’s a cool connection. Not to mention that Charlotte – NXT Women’s Champ is also the Daughter of Ric Flair. So Bram is the Son in Law of the Nature Boy.

Kind of cool.

Bram then hit Shaw in the head with the Turnbuckle and won. Brittany wondered down to the ring and cradles Shaw’s fuzzy chop face.

Bobby Roode vs. MVP and Kenny King – Handicap Match

As I mentioned at the get-go, Impact kicked off with Roode again going on about wanting “One More Match” with Lashley. Least he didn’t keep repeating it to get the Crowd chanting this week. Nothing looks more pathetic than a Guy trying to get a match after losing fair and square by “trying” to get the Crowd chanting for the same goal.

I do miss Heel Roode. I’m sure should Roode get the World Championship again, I will miss Heel Roode all the more.

It will also mean he won’t have the belt for very long – good guy champions are rather boring…
MVP still speaking for Lashley turned down Roode’s attempts for a Re-match once more. But instead from the aid of Kenny King added this stipulation and match – should Roode beat them both, he gets a Title Shot, if not, he can never Wrestle for the World Championship again. Which Roode agreed to… sounds smart.

Clearly Roode wasn’t going to lose this match, and I’m glad Lashley came out and DQ’d King by beating up Roode. Makes it much better, and much more interesting.

What was far funnier was Kurt Angle’s little backstage segment with MVP stating that MVP doesn’t run the show anymore. Given that this was toward the end of Impact, I question the logic of if Kurt Angle was even running the show!

Given that he wasn’t there at the start, or even during the match, he clearly wasn’t paying too much attention.

Roode technically took the win by a DQ, but none of the stated Stipulations took place as Angle set a Number #1 Contenders Match for next week.

Ethan Carter the Third and Spud continue to develop their little break up.

Spud himself as stated that he was so happy TNA gave him the chance to re-invent himself with this Chief of Staff role for Dixie Carter. I was sure Spud was going to get fired sooner or later, we barely saw him on TV, I think he maybe had two, three matches tops and really didn’t seem like a good fit. He said the same thing about himself, which I admire.

But thank god he had the chance to be the Chief of Staff, because Spud has been a highlight in TNA ever since.

As I said last week, I don’t know the longevity of a Spud face turn, I’m not sure it would be the same should he not be a heel character. But I can totally get behind him against EC3, in terms of being bullied and Spud’s little defiance turn.

Spud eventually Slapped EC3, but then EC3 fired Spud from his services. I just thought, should EC3 and Spud face one another, I think EC3 should beat him down, badly, but in a “good effort” kind of way.

The Hardyz vs. Team 3D vs. The Wolves – Full Metal Mayhem – World Tag-Team Championships

Was this series better than Beer Money vs. Motor City?

Honestly I don’t remember that Series amazingly well, but I would say yes. Only given the heights of the series and the participants.

I didn’t make any notes, only as to who won.

The Wolves retained their Championships, which I think is fitting. I’d have liked to see The Hardyz with the belts, and I hope that actually happens. But really, Team 3D should have won if the titles were going to change hands.

But putting over The Wolves was the right move.

The only thing that taints this match was the fact we know it was Taped and that the Crowd just wasn’t electric enough as you’d like.

The match itself – phenomenal.

The very first Full Wrestling PPV I watched as a regular Wrestling fan was SummerSlam 2000 – the very first TLC Match, and that PPV will always be special to me. The Hardyz have been my favourites since I got into Wrestling, to have them and 3D to do this again, 14 years later, is crazy.

It might have been 14 years, but the level of the match, the intensity of the match, was right up there with the best.

Which is also depressing, this Match is worthy of being Remembered in Wrestling History, so many of TNA’s matches are. But will they ever be?

It’s hard to say, I really hope so. If TNA ever go under, I really hope the WWE buy out their tapes just to have it on Record.

Can I sit back and say that this match, was THE match of the year. No.

But it’s definitely the front runner, and I can’t wait to go back and re-watch it!
This is the Wrestling I grew up Loving, with 80% the exact Same guys, and I love that.

So that’s another Impact, yet again a Solid show with a Fantastic Main Event. But it does seem no matter what they put on, TNA just drags along at the same level it’s always at.
Which is a shame, it really is.

Bound for Glory is this Sunday, I will do my best to get it Written up for Wednesday!
I’d like to do the “Predictions” segment for the PPV’s, and I shall, but obviously it’s not really a Storyline driven PPV, and it features 40 – 50% of talent I don’t know.

The Great Muta & Tajiri vs. James Storm & The Great Sanada
– James Storm and Sanada win – (least I hope, probably wrong)

Samoa Joe vs. Low Ki vs. Kaz Hayashi – X-Division Championship
– Samoa Joe retains.

Ethan Carter III vs. Ryota Hama
– EC3 win

Team 3D vs. Abyss & Tommy Dreamer
– Team 3D Win

MVP vs. Kazma Sakamoto
– Kazma Sakamoto win

Manik vs. Minoru Tanaka
– Manik win

Havok vs. Velvet Sky – Knockouts Championship
– Havok retains

Andy Wu & El Hijo del Pantera vs. Jiro Kuroshio & Yusuke Kodama
– Jiro and Yusuke win (no idea?)

Looking forward to Bound For Glory!
Till then!

THE JOBBER BLOGGER #126 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 24/9/14

Jobber-Blogger

The Jobber Blogger

I think this is the first Jobber Blogger in some time that has been late, but guess what people, I’ve been busy! So it does happen.

I myself only managed to watch Impact last night, and though I did think about attempting the second “Watch and Write” issue, I just wanted to take it easy and relax!

Probably a good choice, as it has calmed my initial rage from watching Impact, but the more I think about it, the more it’s coming back! Isn’t that exciting!? Yes it is!

Impact Wrestling LogoTNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 24/9/14

bluelineSo TNA is Total Nonstop Mess right about now. Everything is in crazy land, I don’t know if everyone who reads this is aware, but I shall let you in on what is happening without spoiling anything.

TNA have changed the landscape drastically, yes this concerns all of their Championships, the reason because they don’t have many guys left on Contract, least not a long term contract. Long term being any point to Summer of 2015, which is only a short window as it is.

So they have put the belts on those who are sticking around till at least then, which gives them some wiggle room should people decided to leave TNA rather than do the Pay-By-Appearance method.

I get it, current problems, no TV deal, everything is up in the air. But what this means, is that come Bound for Glory – most of the people you want to watch on the Show, and the matches with the Belts to be defended, yup, that won’t be happening.

Apparently the Japanese audience will be greatly offended and confused should they turn up to Bound for Glory without knowing what’s happened and everything won’t make sense.

TNA have ramped up their TV Tapings to cover to the end of the year I believe, or least will do by the time they get to Bound for Glory. Which means the BIGGEST PPV of the Year, the first time it’s taking place out of the United States, will feature no big matches, no big championship matches and be completely out of sync to what you watched on Television.

Which does beg the question – what’s the point.

This will be like a Special PPV or a “One night Only” TNA in Japan PPV rather than Bound for Glory.

I think they have announced some titles will be defended, I didn’t read, I don’t want to know the spoilers.

This brings us to the bigger problem, 2 Months worth of Impact Tapings packed with “Filler” moments and mainly Video Packages.

Which makes this week’s Impact the first of many to come, and I hereby announce it the start of TNF – Total Nonstop Filler.

I suddenly miss Hogan.

Hulkisenseblueline

MVP vs. Low Ki

“Kurt Angle” had this great idea of a Gold Rush tournament. Now, I actually like the idea, I don’t like how it was tacked on.

It’s a shame this week’s Episode felt like a Televised House Show, because the Matches were actually excellent.

What I didn’t like was sitting through Video Packages of Last Week, then a stupidly long Video of MVP, then MVP taking a full length entrance, plus a Promo.

Low Ki then got his entrance, then a Video Package of Low Ki – yes the same one we saw recently. Then the match, which took 7 mins to get to.

If I wasn’t a committed TNA fan, I would have turned it off by now.

On the plus side, we had MVP vs. Low Ki. I don’t dislike MVP but I certainly don’t see this “massive potential” in the guy either. I think next to Low Ki he quickly looks a bit basic.

What I did like was MVP challenging Low Ki to the chops, which he delivered, to the point of actually making his Chest Bleed.

Low Ki had an impressive outing but MVP got the win with his “Drive By” kick.

Despite what I might have just said about the two guys, I do think MVP taking the win is the right call.

MVP - Sheep in Wolf clothing

blueline

Robbie E vs. Tajiri

Robbie E had one of the very few backstage segments this week as he bragged out “dating” Velvet Sky and then being on the Amazing Race with Brooke, who we haven’t seen in Months, who he really is Dating. So I hope Brooke comes back and they let her and Robbie be an on air couple, I’m guessing the Amazing Race is a big deal? I don’t even know what it is.

I like Robbie E, I like him a lot, always have. I think he’s good at playing the joker, but he’s actually a very talented Wrestler and entertainer, so i was pleased to see him hold his own against Tajiri.

I also take back what I said about Tajiri, guy is impressive and very much on point. I can’t seem to take him seriously though. I almost look at him as if he’s not a real Wrestler, but I do think that’s because he was portrayed badly in the WWE for so many years.

Tajiri hit the Mist to the face of Robbie E and followed it up with a nice kick to the head for the Win.

Doubt Tajiri is sticking around much after BFG, but I’d like to see The Bromans be used a lot more, they are sticking around and they are good Talents.

bluelineAustin Aries vs. Knux

This was a match I didn’t expect to be going into my Match of the Year nominees. But hey, a Wrestling match is about great Wrestling, great crowd interaction and to mix them both together, you create the magic that is – emotion.

Aries and Knux put on a great showing and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Knux perform the way he did when he was against Aries. I think Knux is due some screen time, as is The Menagerie, I do like them and I freakin love Crazy Steve!

Aries muscled Knux up and dropped him with the Brain Buster for the win , so seriously, if you didn’t watch this match, watch this match!

It’s just yet another example that Austin Aries is the absolute best, no matter who he works with, you’re getting something special. He is literally as Legit as they come – and that’s why people love him. As long as he’s on the Payroll – he should be in the Main Events – that simple.

AustinAriesthebest

bluelineMagnus vs. Mr. Anderson

After dragging Magnus through some crap he didn’t need, it finally felt like Magnus was back to his “old self” again.

Though I do think he’s maybe a little dull at times.

Which means on the flip side – Anderson is far from Dull, if only at times lacking motivation, or least comes across that way.

Anderson is a guy who has great potential, he just needs support and a platform to do what he does best, and that’s be himself.

When he came back and had issues with Bully and Dixie – that felt exciting, the start of something new! But it didn’t last, they didn’t build it. I fully believe Anderson could be the key to something quite different, or if not vastly “different” from what we’ve seen, he certainly could be the key to something sorely lacking.

Another good solid match which saw a rather good counter into the Mic Check – which I still think is a naff move.

gaymagnus

bluelineAbyss vs. Samuel Shaw

Abyss is finally looking better. I’m not a big fan of his new attire and mask, the Coat is alright, but now he’s hair come back a bit longer and he’s got a good beard going on – it suits the look.

I didn’t really get into his newer Theme Song – but thinking about it, that Theme might suit this current look better than his traditional one.

I’m just hoping Abyss gets another revamp and used stronger. I think it’s the same comment for most of the Roster – So much potential, just never used.

I like the pairing between Abyss and Shaw and that might even unfold in a good development down the line (hopefully).

Shaw managed to hit in a sneaky Chair Shot but fell victim to the Blackhole Slam right away and Abyss took the win.Abyss Phone blueline

Austin Aries vs. MVP vs. Tajiri vs. Abyss vs. Mr. Anderson

This feels like a Filler Jobber Blogger. Again, it’s not like this was a “BAD” show, it had some awesome matches. It just lacked the atmosphere and planning, it felt rushed and “it’ll do” to fill a week.

I honestly hope that they don’t do this for every week from now till January.

If they had put a little more into this show and produced it better it would have been fantastic with these matches that really bounced out at you.

It just didn’t take off as a show, the crowd seemed to have thinned out toward the end, which I’m not means they taped the matches at different shows, or literally people just left.

But as someone who has sat through multiple TV Tapings, it does wear a little thin.

It just felt like a house show.

Not much more to say about this match, I think if this was promoted a little better and produced a lot better, the tournament would have been really engaging.

I love tournaments.

Least it all ended in a great outcome- Austin Aries.

Aries takes the Win of this Gold Rush tournament and then next week he gets to chose what Title he wants to Challenge for.

interestingangle

blueline

Also in the show they filled it out with a Ladder match recap, a billed World Title Fall out which was the exact same Video Package they ran at the top of the show that just highlighted the main event. So it wasn’t a fall out, it was a clip reel.

To say this was the very last show of their “amazing” Summer in the City, why didn’t they run Video Packages of all the awesome moments that took place during the tapings in New York.

Dixie going through a Table, the World title matches, the Tag-Team Championship Series, Chris Malendez, Havok, lots and lots of material that could have made the show feel more meaningful.

Next week we finally get a new setting as TNA goes back to Pennsylvania.

Honestly, I miss the Impact Zone, I miss the stage, I miss the fireworks, I miss the production level.

Sure it was filled with Holiday goers and old people who obviously took a wrong turn, but it was special, it was “impactful”, it was TNA.

To think nearly 4 years ago TNA was about to explode, and it did for a short time. Since then it’s been going downhill, and now 4 years later, it seems to be falling apart.

Long Live TNA!

Here’s to a Revival in 2015!

Till then!

The Jobber Blogger #124 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 10/9/14

Jobber-Blogger

The Jobber Blogger

I’ve never really been that into South Park. I can respect Matt and Tray, I like their thinking and stance. Not so much their humour.

But if there is one thing they got right, it’s:

americaThe best way to poke fun at how much Americans love themselves. I will be honest, I sort of sucks that the majority of the UK really isn’t that patriotic. UK and USA are two vastly different things to Chant.

I suppose though, when this episode of Impact was filmed, it would have aired on September 11th, in New York. So that’s cool, I get it.

I can understand the thinking of American Hero’s, and War Hero’s, but a lot of the time, you only hear negative things. What makes one of these guys a Hero? So many good Men and Women serve, but the ones who get injured or traumatized seem to be those that are worthy of Heroism.

I’m not going to kick off the Jobber Blogger by saying anything too much on that subject, but of course this all plays into the opening of the show, which as it is, has a lot of problems.

bluelineImpact Wrestling LogoTNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 10/9/14

bluelineChris Malendez vs. DJ Z

Under no circumstances can TNA convince me they Signed Malendez because he’s a great Talent, they signed him because of the reputation, the media and the publicity that goes a long with it.

Chris’ story is awesome, I think he’s hugely admirable. But I just can’t see a bright future for him. I’m not sure how long he’s signed to TNA for, but I would be surprised if he’s still around by the time his contract his up.

A one legged Wrestler, makes headlines, a one legged American Hero draws attention.

So let’s not beat it round the busy anymore shall we, is Chris Malendez impressive, simple, Yes.

But why.

He’s only impressive because of his limitation. Now if he had two legs, he wouldn’t have been anywhere close to working with TNA.

Let’s be fair shall we, his current in ring skill is based on his condition, and it is great. As someone who Hated Zack Gowen, I like Malendez. I think he has a good look, he’s impressive, agile, strength, awesome tattoos, cool music.

But to be able to Defeat DJ Z with a Samoan Drop, nope, not happening.

There is no way, At All that Malendez would ever be capable of defeating anyone on the TNA Roster. Just not possible.

For a “Sport” that struggles enough to find legitimency, adding a guy with a Winning Streak with one leg who really can’t Wrestle anywhere close to the Level of the TNA Roster, that just pisses me off.

I’m not trying to make this personal. I love his story, he seems like an awesome guy. Totally happy for him. But there is no way you can put him in the ring with Austin Aries, and expect that to be a great match. He wouldn’t be able to compete with him. DJ Z hit a Chop Block, it’s already looked as “Such a Heel move!” because he has one leg, it’s freakin’ Wrestling.

Imagine Aries running Circles around him, drop kicking him on the floor, diving over the ropes at him, he wouldn’t be able to do anything, and yet Malendez might beat him, with a Samoan Drop?

I noticed some of the padding fell off his False Leg, Gowen Wrestled without his prosthetic, a giant thick Metal Pole might cause some Damage for a guy who lands on it. Or has it land on them.

That seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Also I said this last time, but Bully and Devon’s Wrestling School, given the talent who has come from it that turned up in TNA, they need better training.

So Malendez beat Zema, which just shouldn’t happen. I get the “push”, but you only push him so far. Or by all means, push him up against Bobby Lashley, see what happens then. I seem to remember Lesnar obliterating Gowen. So you can copy that Storyline.

Samoan Drop my ass, he would have landed harder on a Back Drop, and no one loses on a Back Drop!

bluelineBobby Roode, Eric Young and Samoa Joe vs. MVP, Kenny King and Bobby Lashley

A nice 6man Tag to build up some much needed speed between Roode and Lashley’s collision next week.

Speaking of things I can do without, is the “tip toeing” around between Roode and EY. They’ve not ran the Video Package of “They were once like Brothers!” but you better believe it’s coming.

RoodeEyBrothers

It was literally a few months back when Roode and EY started building this “mutual respect” thing before Roode’s face turn. All on the heels of their history, Team Canada mainly, and that they’re both Canadians. And in case if you forgot, in Canada, a Deal is a Deal!

Welcome to Canada

Roode and EY are throwing around “You’re my Best Friend” in a bucket of sick love more than Barney the Dinosaur.

I can’t stand it. Why are you pushing this so much? If it’s anything like, oh I don’t know, EVERY OTHER TIME! TNA have pushed friendship, one of them is going to turn on the other. At this rate, it looks like EY might have an issue with Roode. Then we shall get the “They were once like Brothers!” Video Package of Bobby Roode screaming “You were my best friend!” which sobbing into a wet fish…. with a beard.

roodefish

The Line that made you Face Palm with your inner palm was Roode saying “EY, you will always be a World Champion to me!”

I bet Roode himself cringed when he read that script.

It pisses me off, it’s like TNA feel this need to pander to the audience so much because they are mainly thick!

Stop telling me the same thing! I got it from them hugging and knowing history, sorted. I don’t need them to tell me it again, and again and again, whilst the announcers and video packages repeat it for me. If they had their way Roode and EY would be kissing each other on the cheek, slapping each others’ ass and getting Married like Billy and Chuck.

billyandchuckseano

Okay so I’m have a good ranting session this week, it brings out my best material.

Guess what else pissed me off, Roode giving Lashley the “My heart is bigger” speech.

Let’s see, He’s Bigger, Tougher, Stronger, Faster, but the fact you can withstand his onslaught longer makes you think you will win? No, it means you will get your ass kicked just that little bit longer, before you inevitably lose.

Roode was such a good heel, now he’s becoming the whining do goody, Baby face that likes your favourite Ice Cream, Saturday night Television and Cuddles!

The crowd was good.

Roode won by defeating MVP with his Roode Bomb… the worst named Finisher going. It’s not even a Bombing type manoeuvre.

bluelineThe Bromans and Velvet Sky vs. Knux, Crazy Steve and Rebel

Do you know what this booking means.. ROB TERRY SUCKS!

Rob Terry Train

I don’t like Rob Terry, I don’t like the pairing of The Bromans with the Beautiful People (though I suspect they are out for their own motives), or that they will split and The Bromans will choose Bro’s over Ho’s. Probably happen.

This is the first time we’ve seen Rebel wrestle. She’s not good. To make matters worse she recently broke her arm. Apparently she’s very under trained. Which is a shame, I like her with Knux.

Which brings us to the best bit!

crazysteve

Now I believe he’s probably much better in the ring than we’ve ever seen. But the Character, is awesome. He makes it work, and he’s just on a whole different level. Knux, Terry, Rebel, all quite easily could be fired tomorrow and the entire Menagerie thing can carry on just fine without them.

Aside from the fact that the whole meaning of the name is a group of course.

Velvet picks up a win by holding the trunks of Rebel… too much.

blueline

EC3 vs. Rhino – Street Fight

I cannot believe that I just wrote “Street Fish!”

I’ve corrected it of course, but the fact my instinct went to Fish, amuses me greatly.

streetsharks

I suppose a Street Fish is pretty much a Street Shark, and they were awesome.

This whole thing kicked off with Kurt Angle, Mr. Fish himself, with his puckered up sucker lips.

Kurt Fish

Angle has never felt genuine, or real in his entire run as the Executive Director. He sounds so de-motivated that I just don’t believe a single word out of his mouth.

Things like “I…look..forward..to…being…here…each…..and…….ev…er..y weeeeeeek”.

I got bored typing that.

What I did like however was the whole “You don’t look like you’re ready to Wrestle.. good, I won’t make you… it’s a Street Fight!” Or fish, I’m easy.

The match was what it was.

Thankfully EC3 won, this whole thing is putting over EC3 more than anything else. Was that the point?

The crowd seemed to be enjoying cheering for him too. Hey, whatever, Rhino sucks.

I get the thinking of Rhino being a New York guy, given his ECW heritage. But when you put him as a mindless idiot, even if he decides he wants to eat a guys Ass (his words, not mine), no body cares, because you booked him as a mindless idiot.

There’s only one thing I want to see now, is that mindless idiot get his ass kicked. So I’ve enjoyed it.

bluelineThe new Knockouts Calandar is now a Storyline, so that’s exciting. Nothing sets the Knockouts Division apart from the Divas more than letting them post for a Calander in their skimpiest clothes then fall out with each other over who is prettier and petty jealousy.

That worked wonders.

And just like you would suspect, Velvet and Angelina are having issues again. Why, dear lord, why, do they need to be this way? Why does it have to be Angelina forcing herself as the dominent one. Why can’t they just be bad together.

I hate that.

Clearly Angelina is the leader, because it’s a Wrestling business and Velvet struggles to run the ropes, let alone anything more complicated then that. Case closed, facts are facts people.

ODB is in the Calandar.. but not the Company. Flaw number one.

Brooke is in the Calander, not seen her in how long?

Then Disco Bane crashed the party with some of that Dubstep’z and stole Gail’s Knockouts Championship. Which led them to fight each other for a while.

Also Bane beat up some guys, Taz seemed suprised. I do like the fact that they picked the skinniest guys around. Not really head turning levels of impressive.

Could be worse though, she could be Chyna. Come to TNA for one match, fall over whilst picking up Jarrett then leaving right away to go back to Porn…. and look like a man.

Wow… I’m brutal this week! I like it!

bluelineJames Storm and The Great Sanada vs. Austin Aries and Tajiri

I always thought some objects, tools and lark would be universal. Like a Spanner, it would still be Spanner in a different country, just a different name, same job.

Yet apparently in Japan their tools are a little different. Evidently their Buzz Saws must be rather slow, dull, out of shape and boring.

“You still got it!” – Funny, I don’t remember a time when he had it.

The great leader James Storm, who won his first match in ages by being on the Winning team, seems like an odd fit for the character he’s playing.

Again, I like the idea behind it. I just don’t like the execution. I don’t think the Silver Bathrobe and Beer Bottle make Storm look like Revolutionary Leader. He looks like a Drunk who got a shower in his robe.

bluelineTeam 3D vs. The Hardyz vs. The Wolves – Tables Match

Another good match, but still not on the Level I’m looking for.

I hate to say it, but Matt really seems a step behind everyone else and it’s rather noticeable.

My originally prediction was quickly turned around when I realised the pattern. Which now means, it’s less impressive.

The Wolves are going to win in the Ladder Match next week, then I imagine we will have Full Metal Mayhem, combining the Tables and the Ladders. Much like how TLC was put together originally.

This isn’t really a problem, only that you know who will win. But you don’t know, is who will win the actual match that matters, which would be the final one.

Another thing I dislike about Tag-Team Tables matches, is that One guy needs to go through a Table. I get that it can get rather confusing after a while, but both guys need to go through a Table for a match to be won. That’s the best way to do it!

The Hardyz picked up the win with Jeff dropping a Swanton from the top rope to the floor putting Eddie through a Table.

Also how naff do the Wolves look now, losing twice, and Eddie being the deciding factor both times (I believe).

Jeff climbed up a Ladder whilst Matt dragged his sorry ass as high as he could, out of breath, panting he issued the Challenge for next week.

bluelineWhich brings us to next week – No Surrender!

Knockouts Battle Royal

Homicide vs. Samoa Joe

Hardyz vs. Team 3D vs. Wolves – Ladder Match

and

Bobby Lashley vs. Bobby Roode – World Championship

bluelineYay, time for the Predictions!

I forgot to do this segment the last few times, so let’s drop it like it’s hot.

If the Knockouts Battle Royal is for the Championship then Gail will Win.

If it’s a Number One Contenders.. the smart choice would be Havok, but I will go with Velvet.

Samoa Joe will retain, it’s insulting to think any other way.

The Wolves will win.

Bobby Lashley will win.

bluelineTill then!

The Jobber Blogger #122 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 27/8/14

Jobber-Blogger

The Jobber Blogger

Well it’s 8:30pm, Sunday the 31st of August, and I’m knackered.

It’s my second day off after my lovely 10 day stint at work, and I think it’s just finally hit me.

Having a nice nap during the day seems to have made things all the worse! But, here we are!

Quick shout out goes to the Cage Amateurs UK team of Jon and Dan, not only for posting up my ramblings for as long as they have, but just for them being awesome guys and sending me a free t-shirt!

Yes, a picture might follow! Just not right now!

bluelineTNA talk time, and it’s quite easy to say that TNA is Getting Wild!!! No, don’t get ahead of yourselves, it’s only getting wild because they’ve been offered a TV Deal by the Discovery Channel, not a bad idea, linking EY’s Off the Hook show with TNA. However the budget they will give TNA will drastically change their product, so it’s a last resort I believe.

Apparently Netflix forked out some ridiculous fee for the rights to some TV show I forgot the name of. That’s a pretty damn good budget. I still think the Online Streaming Market is a good market to get into. I suppose you can say that the WWE Network is under performing. Though I would bet the vast majority of their audience and TNA’s have Netflix, or a product similar. Put it on there, worldwide, no pesky TV limitations, try Live shows? Small extra charge for a PPV, and put out the show at the same time, World Wide. Awesome idea!

I’m sure there’s a lot more to it than that and I have no idea about anything.

blueline TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 27/8/14

Kurt kicked off the show by standing up in the crowd of the New York fans. Maybe too close to the fans… especially this guy

kurt fan love

I did find it funny that the show went all “Wrestling” quickly, and I mean that in terms of being a typical Wrestling talking match, rather than actually Wrestling.

MVP, Lashley and King hit the ring and poor Kurt just stood next to those fans for quite some time saying nothing…. doing nothing. It’s like they forgot he was there. And also how I used to feel when standing near people. End up sort of in a group, just standing there… too embarrassed to walk away, then people I didn’t know would turn up, people I did know left… and I was just stuck, standing near people I didn’t know, starring at them whilst they talked about crap I had no interest in. Ahh, to be shy again.

Waste of my frickin’ time!

Thankfully MVP was back on form at actually being good on the mic, then for no reason, At All, Tommy Dreamer got involved.

Tommy Dreamer, who has no relevance to this situation was put in this situation. My god! I’ve never noticed how much of a whiney git Dreamer is. Has it always been his “thing” to be a suck up?

Why does he need to get involved in everything and tell people how good they are? How much better they can be. I don’t remember him doing this before?

dreamer loveDreamer who took it upon himself to tell Fortune some years ago how good they all were, then got his ass kicked. He recently came out to tell Dixie how lovely she is, and got hit in the nuts. Now he’s come out to tell MVP, King and Lashley at how far they’ve fallen, to once again get his ass kicked.

Isn’t he supposed to be a talk from the heart in an edgy kind of way. This is just pathetic. Also hilarious. If it’s meant to be serious, then it’s a terrible characteristic. However, having Dreamer tell everyone how lovely they are and he getting beaten up for it, I’m down with that.

bluelineLashley vs. Dreamer – Street Fight

So here’s the problem, and it’s called Lashley vs. Dreamer.

Dreamer has always been the guy who looks like he least belongs in a ring. That’s not to say he can’t wrestle or perform. He just doesn’t look like a Wrestler. He looks like a crew guy who got caught up in something.

Whereas Lashley is arguably the most well built Professional Wrestler going.

I supposed that’s the dynamic of this particular booking.

Lashley took a few good shots from the weapons, but he kept it a Wrestling match and that is how he defeated Dreamer and thankfully it wasn’t too much of a struggle for him.

See they’re building Lashley well now, making him the Destroyer, a true Wrestler, who can’t be beat. Aside from the fact he’s won two of his toughest matches because they made an error, rather than his superiority, that’s the only downside.

bluelineSo the new Knockout – Havok is making her debut next week. Not sure if everyone knew it was a Knockout yet?

Either way, looking forward to it, she looks like a Female Bane….. I’m judging that purely on the mask, no idea what she actually looks like. (Just to cover my tracks on what could have been an insult!) Yay!

Lei'D BanebluelineGunner was hanging out in his Room with Samuel Shaw. Yup, it gets weirder believe it or not.

This was one of those strange to place Wrestling backstage segments again. Because it’s meant to look like a “scene” yet it’s Wrestling, which is based in reality, so there is obviously a Camera Man in the room.

It’s a weird mix, top it off with some bad acting, and well, it’s Wrestling I guess?

Shaw pretended to be drawing, then decided to wear Gunner’s military jacket and salute him.

I’m guessing we’re supposed to see that either Shaw IS crazy, or he’s developing a kind of affection for Gunner.

If this thing turned into a Gay storyline, I think it would catch people off guard. I’d find it funny, so why not. Can’t be any worse than Claire Lynch.

bluelineMadison Rayne vs. Taryn Terrell – #1 Number Contenders – Knockouts Championship

Whilst on the topic of the Knockouts, it appears that Velvet might be distancing herself from TNA. Bully’s contract is now up, so he’s effectively left the company, though he will be at Bound for Glory for the Hall of Fame.

I’m still hopeful Bully isn’t done with TNA. But this apparent relationship between Bully and Velvet, one would imagine that her distancing herself could also be in part due to his departure.

See, this wasn’t a bad match. Taryn is good, she’s good at the more unusual things you wouldn’t see a Knockout doing. The crazy things.

But she’s not that technically good either, though miles better than Velvet… but that’s another story.

I’m easily more of a Madison fan, but whatever, there’s still something about Taryn that just doesn’t seem to “click” as a full package.

What was interesting was Madison’s attempt at cheating, putting her feet on the Ropes. Maybe they think there aren’t enough Heel Knockouts, perhaps they think Madison works better as a heel?

I’m open to her being in the Beautiful People again, hopefully Velvet does stick around, if she goes I don’t think Angelina would be far behind her. That would suck.

But hey, let’s stay on topic, Taryn won. Now she’s off to face Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship, and guess what, she shouldn’t win.

But she might…

bluelineHomicide, DJ Z, Manik vs. Tigre Uno, Crazy Steve and Low Ki

Random but awesome 6-man X-Division Tag.

Interesting pairing between all of these guys too, given that DJ Z is the only real Heel.

Again, the latter part of Low Ki’s entrance was the only one Televised, so quite obvious who is getting put over.

Uno took his time to shine once more, and he is just excellent! Hopefully he will be put in a match again soon, where he isn’t just “there” to fill in the gaps. Uno vs. Low Ki, I’d like to see that.

Awesome, Fast Paced, Excellent match! Low Ki, picked up the win.

bluelineBobby Roode and Eric Young had one of those “Respect Talks” to each other for their match next week to determine the Number One Contender.

I love how this was played off as a big deal, and struggle to decide the correct action. Despite this was the most obvious course of action, with a Triple Threat not being out of the question either.

Sure, EY and Roode have a history, but it’s not like a really well documented on screen Friendship, aside from their time in Team Canada all of those years ago.

Don’t think they really need to let them telling each other how much they like one another, but it didn’t not work either. Them getting fired up about tearing the Roof Down next week seemed to get a big pop, and no doubt nice Video Footage.

Here’s the thing though, and it gets sticky.

Eric Young defeated Bobby Roode twice, yup, TWICE! To retain the World Championship.

And EY has never been able to defeat Bobby Lashley, at all, or even get close.

Yet Roode seems like the most legit guy to challenge Lashley, and he’s being billed as that. But on paper, Roode couldn’t beat EY, so therefore Roode shouldn’t be able to beat Lashley (as far as logic goes). And EY has been defeated by Lashley so many times, that he’s not going to stand a chance.

So what’s the point? Unless they do swing a Triple Threat. Either way, I’d like Lashley to keep the belt. I’ve wanted Storm on top for some time now, and I’m into this idea of him forming a Revolution, he’d be a good figure head. So my perfect idea, is Lashley remains dominant, till the onslaught of Storm and his Revolution. Heel on Heel.

I like that idea.

bluelineEthan Carter the Third vs. Rhino

Remember that guy I made fun of in the crowd a few weeks back? No… well up yours!

shyguy^ This guy. Yup, even TNA are mocking him now, gave him some more screen time and Taz and Tenay burst out laughing at the poor guy. I found it funny.

creepy fan 2Something else I found rather funny, was when Tenay and Taz were talking about Dixie’s interview from last week, Taz making some comment about how Mike should have asked her something. Tenay responded saying it must have got edited out, to which Taz brilliantly replied “I thought they didn’t edit anything on this show”. Who knows if that was scripted, but Impact is so badly and poorly edited at times, that I enjoyed this comment.

I also liked how Taz and Tenay had to tell Rhino’s story during this match to try and make you think he’s the good guy. His alliance with EC3 and Dixie was only about money, and they were never friends.

Yup, you want people to be against EC3 and on Rhino’s side, well apart from the fact Rhino has some history people will latch onto, Rhino does look like an idiot in all of this.

So yeah, I routed for EC3, and much to my enjoyment he got himself a Chair and beat the high holy hell out of Rhino with it. To the point where Spud told him to Calm Down.

I enjoyed this, it makes me like EC3, and I’m against Rhino throughout this crappy storyline, so I enjoyed that more.

bluelineThe Great Sanada vs. Austin Aries

Storm came out to introduce Sanada, talk about his Revolution and that Sanada is the “first of many”. So I am liking the idea. Again, Storm being on a losing streak doesn’t exactly make him a good mentor.

Sanada debuted his new look, which is also The Great Muta’s old look. Not very original of Storm really.

I did quite like it though. What I appreciated more is that Sanada is supposed to be the one put over, but he didn’t bury Aries.

Aries was as legit as ever, but Sanada was playing dirty and Storm was getting involved, so I’m cool with Aries taking the fall.

I particularly liked Sanada’s counter to the Brain Buster by Biting Aries’ hand. “Biting” is obviously used a fair bit in Wrestling, but to have Sanada with his arms out, Aries’ hand in mouth, as he pulled himself out of the hold. Nice touch.

In the end though Storm shook the ropes to make Aries fall from the top, Sanada sprayed the mist in his face then finished him off with a Superkick for the win.

I look forward to where this goes, and in a lot of ways this felt like old wrestling. Having a manager out there, debuting his new talent, trying to put him over. I don’t know why, but the appearance helped too, I liked it. I look forward to where this leads and hope Storm actually brings more people into this revolution.

bluelineChris Malendez had his Debut, least in appearance.

It’s a weird one. I get why he’s impressive, I get why it’s an amazing thing to achieve, I get why he’s respected. I just don’t see longevity in his career.

I honestly feel TNA’s signing of an “American Hero” is more for publicity than anything else. I liked the story of Anderson putting him in touch with Bully and Devon. But then Bully and Devon were called the “best trainers” and I think Rob Terry came from their school, either way Jesse Neal did, and he sucked.

Not to mention he was in the Marines, Navy? I don’t think he got free training.

I don’t mean this to sound harsh, but the idea of a one legged Wrestler doesn’t interest me, if anything I find it off putting. It is fantastic to be able to get where he is, but there will always be a limit of what he can do, always.

Zack Gowen is obviously the comparison, and I hated him. It bugs me to this day that his only win, ONLY WIN, was against Matt Hardy. That should never have happened. EVER!

bluelineTeam 3D vs. The Hardyz vs. The Wolves – Match 1

Honestly, I put no notes. Well, I wrote down that Team 3D won, and that the match was awesome.

This is what I will say, this match was fantastic! We knew it would be.

There isn’t anything I can really say to do it justice, just watch it.

However, as good as this match was, I didn’t put it forward for a Match of the Year Nomination.

Now, why didn’t I do that?

Two reasons, number one, this match though special, isn’t as special as the first two matches between Hardyz and the Wolves, and Hardyz vs. Team 3D.

Number two, and this is the main reason, this was Match Number 1, these are going to get crazy good, I know it. So this won’t be the best, and the best, will be the best, and then that will be put forward I’m sure.

I love Tag-Team Wrestling!

blueline

Good show, no more major news regarding TNA currently, Manik has re-signed, so that’s good.

The Jobber Blogger #120 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 14/8/14

Jobber Blogger hardyz copyOne Hundred and Twenty times, and I’ve blabbed on about crap! Oh yes, good old TNA: Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, WRESTLING WRESTLING WRESTLING!

What a weird and wonderful place you find yourselves in. So putting Dixie through a Table boosted the ratings to continue TNA’s current run of “a good month”, putting the much hyped, four month build up of putting a Woman through a Table the highest rated Impact show since February. Which means! Back in February they had a higher rated show and Dixie needn’t have gone through a Table.

ALAS!

This means nothing really. Well aside from the Network bosses who decide to pump money into your programme. And given that Spike TV isn’t looking so keen on renewing their deal with TNA, I suppose ratings mean everything.

Which is good news to know that the ratings dropped… a lot, this week. Despite this being a better show, but it’s wrestling, so who knows.

Also they didn’t spend four months building the main event. Though the WWE spent a whole year building The Rock vs. Cena and that sucked…. like, really sucked. Which is an interesting point I just made to myself, so I shall mention that later on!

So Spike might renew their current deal, who knows, but they won’t go out of business, but it’s certainly not good news.

What is worse news however is that Alberto Del Rio got the axe from the WWE for slapping some social media guy. Rightfully so, I’m sure. I’ll let you decide if I mean getting fired or slapping the guy.

… getting fired, obviously.

We all knew it would be the next step, there is the big news of a WWE talent getting fired, or quitting or being “released” then it’s the “Why?” then it’s the TNA factor.

TNA have made a career off of bad business moves of bringing in bigger named talent, dropping the belt on them, doing nothing, getting a few weeks of ratings, pissing off a lot of fans, pissing off the talent then big name star quits and it’s done.

Happens, every, single, time.

So yes, TNA apparently went right after or at least wanted to go right after getting Del Rio with the added boost of wanting to drop the Heavyweight Championship on him right away. So that’s awesome brilliant thinking. Are we seriously thinking that in 2014, after 12 freaking years, the same stupid guy has a job that does this and thinks it’s a good idea. Lets be honest, Del Rio, really isn’t all that good. Del Rio most certainly isn’t better than the talent you already have. And are you really, really, going to throw away your build up and planning and developing to just put it on the new guy whose name has some cache with a bigger company? Are we really still doing this?

For a company that has the best locker-room in the industry, they are damn lucky, most of them have still decided to stick around, because when your as stupid as to do this, all the time, you don’t deserve to be in business.

Sorry but, James Storm, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries. Sort them out first. Samoa Joe, Eric Young, Jeff Hardy, Bully Ray sort them out next. Then focus on your new talent in the following years. It’s just frustratingly pathetic, that I hope, and pray, this actually is a work, and TNA have finally decided to poke fun at the same mis-steps they always take.

Want to solve your ratings / network problem? Here’s a hint, Don’t Do The Same Thing Every Body Hates! AGAIN!

bluelineImpact Wrestling Logo

TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 14/8/14

bluelineWell I started productively then thought you know what, I wonder how many guys came from the WWE and won the TNA title in little to no time at all. That goes to wikipedia, that goes to youtube, then you find your not even watching anything remotely relevant to why you went looking in the first place, and I guess that’s the beauty of the internet.

Or in other words, a waste of time.

Clearly.

Hot off the heels of Dixie going through a table, and yes to keep up to date with the time scheduel, this was 7th of August that the Impact show aired with Dixie’s power-bomb, funny enough days after this current TV Show was taped.

So they must have had to ruin a lot, or just one show?

I lose track, but it’s confusing, it doesn’t really matter, but I like to know that the Audience are at least up to date with what’s happening, otherwise it’s distracting.

Bully kicked off the show talking about, of course, putting Dixie through a table, and then went on to talk highly of Devon, and so Devon showed up.

Yes, we’ve all forgotten how Bully kicked him in the head, then joined up for The Aces and Eights, then also betrayed him, now they’re a team again.

It’s wrestling, got it.

Then something rather cool happened, we knew from the week before about this match, but just having Matt and Jeff confront Bully and Devon, in 2014, in TNA. It’s a little weird.

In a lot of ways the Hardyz seem much less accomplished that Team 3D, given that Jeff by himself has had more singles success than all of them combined.

Also this guy obviously didn’t know Matt was in town

handfan

Obviously we all know the history between these two teams, but again, it’s just weird to have the Hardyz back together as it is, through them in the same ring with Team 3D and it’s like what happened. I grew up with this, now it’s 2014 and the ring has six sides and everything’s gone crazy.

I guess we didn’t really need a banter filled history lesson, but I can let that slide for nostalgia purposes, what I really didn’t need was TNA’s horrible editing.

They do it all the time with the taped shows, maybe the segments go on too long, but it’s so un-organic it ruins what magic can be found.

The chants don’t build up they just “appear” with a crowd shot, then they’re gone and it’s back to talking, or a quick reaction from Bully, then back to Matt.

It’s very jarring and very annoying. And it really taints the moment they’re trying to create. The moment is there, it’s happening, but you’re cutting it out. I suppose I can live with the horrible editing of a forced history lesson promo to set the main event, because it’s one hell of a main event.

bluelineLow Ki vs. Homicide vs. Manik vs. Crazy Steve vs. DJ Z vs. Tigre Uno – 6-man Tag Team Scramble – X-Division Number One Contender Match

Yup, that’s a match type you won’t forget in a hurry.

Because of how the show is presented, you already know which guy will win. Given that only Low Ki got a Televised entrance, you know from that alone they view Low Ki as the favourite, biggest star, and clearly the one going to win. Given the last few weeks of TV Time, it’s no surprise either.

The jury is still out on whether Low Ki is even sticking around. I don’t think he’s signed a contract.

But whatever, he’s awesome, so I can get with it. I’ve never understood the appeal of Homicide. I don’t get why he keeps coming round. I know he has a fair history with TNA, but he doesn’t come across impressive in the least to me.

He does the odd flip or crazy jump, but that’s about as far as it goes, and he does that with no grace.

Poor Crazy Steve was the first to be eliminated followed by of course Tigre Uno. Yup, that trend continues.

Least he wasn’t the first to be eliminated, that would have really annoyed me. I’d rather Steve didn’t go straight away either, but given his character it fits.

What worries me is that it seems Uno knows he’s being underused, because he took his limited time and pulled out all the stops. He’s fantastic, I don’t get why they’re not using him better than just to fill matches.

I say it every episode he is on, but seriously:

tigre uno fn

In the end of course it was down to Low Ki and Homicide, again, don’t get the appeal.

But they did put on a good bout, hard hitting, fast paced, good wrestling.

Low Ki won… didn’t see that coming.

No chance he will defeat Samoa Joe in his first X-Division Championship defense, but it could start off a nice feud.

bluelineEC3, Rhino and Spud hit the ring to talk about last week’s actions of putting Dixie through a table. EC3 called for Bully to be fired, which brought out Kurt Angle – who is on the WWE track again, sick of hearing about that.

Kurt instead got them all arrested, I guess it was kind of funny. Maybe this is supposed to be the “end” of them too, but I don’t think we’ve seen the last of it. Which basically means, Dixie is gone, but she’s not gone.

The show was built around the footage from after the Show, Dixie’s condition, an interview with Dixie next week, EC3, Spud still around. It’s not done with at all. So what was the point? People don’t want it on the show, you’ve ended it, leave it. But we all know they won’t, so it’s going to go on, and drag out a little bit more, and a little bit more, until just like Dixie and Bully themselves, nobody cares anymore, and they didn’t care to start with. Move on.

bluelineMr. Anderson vs. Gunner

This match happened.

I’m not sure what the crowd was doing during this match but they seemed to go onto (I believe WWE’s Fandango dancing and theme) onto other random crowd chants.

Which means they were whole heartedly invested in this match up.

Samuel Shaw ran down to “break up” the fight, which led to Anderson punching Shaw, which led to Shaw beating up Anderson, which led to Gunner breaking them up.

It’s really not all that exiting, plus it’s on the same trend as TNA’s current trend of not trusting people. I’m fairly confident Shaw will turn out to be using Gunner all of this time.

And Anderson is really the one who is right, but looks like the bad guy. Been there done that.

bluelineBiggest news from Impact, JR Tweeted about Dixie going through a Table, and they showed it. Doubt this means anything at all, but JR has been positive about TNA for a while, surely they would listen to him and take his advice. I think it’s the actual “in ring” segments of Wrestling he enjoys… you know, from a Wrestling show.

JRTNA

bluelineAngelina Love vs. Velvet vs. Gail Kim vs. Taryn Tarrell – Knockouts Championship

Isn’t it far too soon to be playing the only card Wrestling can think of, the competition between friends. Angelina and Velvet are “butting heads” already, again, again I might add. We’ve been down this road before too.

With the same people.

Again.

I’m still rather confident there will be a “surve ball” in here somewhere and the Beautiful People pretending to have issues will be the downfall of Gail’s current Knockouts Championship run.

Least that is wishful thinking, I suppose that would have to go to Velvet. Which is cool, she’s only held the belt once, and it wasn’t for long.

Taryn dived off the top rope to the floor taking everyone down, living up to her crazy and short legacy.

Something I really liked about the New York fans is that they do seem to respond well to the Knockouts, and I mean the Knockouts actually Wrestling. I respect that.

To be honest I respect any Wrestling fan that actually gives respect to the Wrestlers. I was a little appaulled by some fans in Manchester when I was there last year who were booing the Knockouts and yelling for them to get out the ring. The Knockouts Division in TNA is one of their strongest assets, they need to grow it more if anything.

The Beautiful People wouldn’t let either of themselves win, and Taryn cleaned the ring (and somehow managed to take herself out of the ring with a clothesline), Gail then dropped Velvet with Eat Defeat and retained her Championship.

bluelineLashley, MVP and Kenny King vs. Eric Young, Austin Aries and Bobby Roode

TNA is a bit all of the place currently, I’m not quite sure where things are going to go.

Bully and Dixie has been centre stage so long now, that the World Championship really doesn’t feel that relevant.

They are obviously building Roode, but with Team 3D and the Hardyz etc taking the Main Events, it doesn’t feel like the right place for the Championship, or even that Roode seems to be the right guy to take the belt.

Another reason we don’t need Alberto Del Rio.

One thing is for sure though, and that this match was awesome.

MVP is still limping around, but King, Lashley, EY, Roode and especially Austin Aries are all on top form. Put them together in a match that is fast paced, impactful and continously moving, it creates something special.

It really is hard to look at Roode as the favourite, even though Aries lost to Lashley, and then again lost his match, just in the ring, Aries is on another level to everyone, always is. How do you put that in second place.

MVP hit Aries with his Crutch behind the Ref’s back leaving Aries ripe for the Lashley spear, and the win.

bluelineThe Hardyz vs. Team 3D

What can I say. Team 3D walked out in their old school Camo, Matt and Jeff, well they’ve always looked fairly similiair to how they look now. Though if they both rocked the black jeans, Matt with his black shirt and white stripe on the sleeve his big arm bands and Jeff the same with his arm bands (also how cool are Jeff’s Arm Bands) I would be giddy if they did that.

Still don’t think the music is impactful enough, but it works alright.

I don’t know if it’s just my childhood nostalgia, but this was something. My favourite Wrestling Promotion, my all-time favourite Tag-Team the Hardy Boyz facing off against their best opponents, Team 3D easily the best Tag-Team in Wrestling history. Just something to behold, in 2014.

From the get go I was hooked, but to make it all that much better, this match was fantastic!

Which if you remembered at the start of The Jobber Blogger I had a rant about The Rock and John Cena. Well as a young Wrestling fan, obviously The Rock was one of my favourites too, who didn’t like him?

Though 2003 Hollywood Rock heel run – his best work, ever!

Aside from that, let’s move on.

Rock wasn’t all that great as a Wrestler, obviously he as an entertainer, untouchable.

But as a young Wrestling fan, you don’t really pay attention to the neuances of Wrestling technicality.

Which is why when Matt and Jeff go up against Team 3D, it was magic then, and it was magic now.

Though the difference would be all of them have stayed active in Wrestling, Bully and Devon completely re-shaping themselves psyhically and mentally, Matt and Jeff going through what they have, and Jeff easily being in the best position he’s ever been, with his best Work he’s ever done, right now.

So yeah, it’s not apples to apples here.

If there is anything that bugs me about this match, is two things.

One, I feel Matt and Jeff could have pulled out a few bigger patented Hardy moves, but then, they should also save them for another time.

Two, Devon kicked out far too easily from the Twist of Fate and Swanton.

But of course the 3D is just pure awesome as a Double Team move, so credit goes to Team 3D, and even though I’m a Hardy fan through and through, no matter what. Team 3D should have picked up the win, and they did.

What more can I say, if you grew up in the same Generation as me, then you will no doubt feel the same as a I do.

Fantastic match, utterly awesome from in the ring, just to the moment of itself, to nostalgia to everything.

Match of the Year nominee, no doubt about it.

Team3DHardyz

bluelineImpact was a packed show and it was a great show. A shame they took a dive in the ratings, because TNA do deliver a lot of great work, it just falls short.

Hardcore Justice is coming at us next week, and given that it’s still in New York, it’s going to be brutal.

Bram vs. Abyss – Stairway to Janice

Samoa Joe vs. Low Ki – X-Division Championship

Six-Sides of Steel – Number One Contendership Match for the World Heavyweight Championship

bluelineShould be awesome.

Something that is probably smart, but also not as awesome is TNA moving to Wednesday nights in America.

Thursdays have always been their thing, aside from when they had the guts to go head to head with RAW, and didn’t really make a dint. But kudos to trying.

TNA want the ratings, and WWE is thinking of shifting Smackdown back to Wednesday.

I think it really sucks that TNA at least won’t try and go head to head with WWE’s second rated programme. I understand it.

It just feels a shame, and it almost feels like a step toward the end of their Spike TV contract.

I hope the Spike bosses love the shows and Wednesday prove successful, either way, TNA needs to find a new home, because even though they make dumb errors almost constantly they still put on a great show.

And when they get it right, They Get it 100% right.

TNA fan till the end!

Till then,

The Jobber Blogger #118 – TNA: DESTINATION X – 31/7/14

jobber-bloggergog

Well, I guess there is no time better to start writing this week’s The Jobber Blogger then right now. On Sunday! Yes, I am on time! Huzah!

I’ve not actually been and read back last week’s issue, but it did seem a bit of a rush around squeeze in, so if anyone didn’t like it, then I can apologise.

However, isn’t this interesting, I have just this week got back from my short trip away, which was lovely, thanks for asking. But right now, things are all blowing up.

Spike TV doesn’t seem interested in renewing TNA’s contract, which would effectively cancel Impact Wrestling. But let’s be serious for a second, one, Spike has not as of yet cancelled the show. Two, Spike are actually being pretty decent to TNA, unlike they did when they cancelled WWE Raw some years ago. All TNA need is a new network, or another deal with Spike.

This is why TNA isn’t going anywhere, despite people already writing which Wrestler is going where. Obviously this isn’t a good sign, but TNA is drawing Spike’s biggest numbers, which probably also means Spike’s biggest money project, is also TNA. So win some, lose some I guess.

TNA is a huge, million dollar company, that has its roots firmly set all over the globe. They are the number one watched Wrestling show in a good portion of Europe, someone will want them.

Again, people seem to think this is bad news, and a sure “good riddance”, yet WWE’s been through this before, it doesn’t’ mean anything.

What TNA need to do however is address what isn’t working. Paul Heyman recently said that people need to let go of ECW, and thank god he said that. Of course some people don’t like his words, but it’s almost pathetic now.

TNA just can’t let it go, and the only reason that is, is because ECW is more viable than TNA. How ridiculously bad is that. The best work TNA can do, is when they theme their shows to a flash in the pan company from over a decade ago. TNA has 12 strong years of history, but it’s clearly not working. At least in a branding sense.

It’s frustrating, year after year, TNA has the talent, the locker-room is fantastic. When they put on a Wrestling show, it’s the best Wrestling show going. When they bog it down with crap, no one cares. And it’s almost always bogged down with crap. Vince Russo is gone now, which is good news. They’ve got the Six-Sided ring back, they’re trying to push the X-Division (again) things seem to be rolling. Edge, and JR are publically saying how good the quality of the show is, when they just let their Wrestlers, Wrestle.

You would think TNA would have found their little slice by now, but it’s still all up in the air. But with that being said, at least they are still trying, and taking risks, it’s that which will always gain my respect as a Fan. Though why they drop some good ideas, and then green light some terrible ones, does baffle me a little. I think losing the Bound for Glory series is bad news, but then it wasn’t a perfect tournament, it needs refining, shortening down, but the idea behind it is great.

bluelineTNA: DESTINATION X – 31/7/14

Well if you didn’t guess by the banner, it’s Guardians of the Galaxy time folks! I’ve been riding this high for quite some time now. I don’t know what it is, but I am hooked, I’m itching at the finger to just buy anything related to the Guardians. I love the comics, I love the movie, I love the characters. T-Shirts, Toys, Prints, Collecatables, comics of course, everywhere! I’m obsessed!

Which brings us neatly to Destination X, where I am a little unsure of my final opinions on.

Well, it was a good show, no doubt, but it is a TNA show after all, so it does have some niggles.

Dixie, Spud, EC3, Rhino, Snitsky and Rycklon, or Ry cliff jean, I forget…

The whole point of this was to set up a match for next week, against Team 3D and Dreamer, pegged as “one final match”.

Which gets ruined for us all at the end of this week’s show, but more on that later.

Apparently Snitsky and Ryclon, are supposed to represent ECW. Which is a joke. Everyone knows that’s a joke. WWE’s “ECW” was a joke, hell, the original ECW was boarder line a joke in the first place. So yes, Snitsky was briefly in WWE’s ECW, and Ryclon, as Ezekiel Jackson, was the last person to hold WWE’s “ECW” World Championship. Funny enough, it’s the very same Championship which is classed as one of Bobby Lashley’s World Championship reigns. Also a joke.

I find it hard to care about this anymore, but thankfully this all ends next week when Dixie goes through a Table. Oh Wait, is that a Spoiler?… no, it’s on the show, this week’s show. TNA’s own show.

I guess we might as well get this out of the way here. The whole “Next Week on Impact Wrestling” is all about Dixie going through a Table, which is footage from next week’s show. Sure they cut it before she goes through the Table, but what a joke.

They’ve obviously seen that this big “storyline” is not as interesting as they thought, as the Ratings take a dive every time Dixie is on TV, no matter if she’s going through a Table or not.

So to try and boost the viewership one would only imagine, they run the clip of “next week, she goes through a Table, tune in to witness it”. If I was more like a Moriarty, I would not watch it on principle! But I’m going to watch it, because that’s what I’m like. Still kind of crap to spoil your own show. Doesn’t say a lot of good for the product is it. It’s Square Enix all over again.

please tune in next week dixie carter goes through a table

bluelineHardyz vs. The Wolves – World Tag-Team Championships

So I will be honest, I got a bit of a kick out of covering this match. Sure I do this for the fun of it, but just having established what little I have with The Jobber Blogger, it was pretty cool to be covering a Hardy Boyz match. They’re my team. They’re my childhood, so it was quite a thing.

What is weird though, is having the Hardyz passing the torch, I grew up with them in their prime, now they’re on the closing part of their careers, or at least sailing toward it slowly. It’s quite sad.

I would love to say they were just as good as I remember, on point, perfect, fast and efficient. But they weren’t.

Which obviously, they are a fair bit older, and although Matt is working with ROH and other indie shows, he just doesn’t seem quite as on point. I guess they haven’t team regularly enough either to get back into their old routine. I know they’ve done some shows at Omega, and recently with the Young Bucks (they should be back in TNA).

That slight criticism doesn’t sell them short by a long shot, this match was awesome! The Wolves are at the top of their game, and so is Jeff, I think Matt needs a little bit of time, but he’s only a step behind his potential.

What I will say sucks though, is the entrance theme. It sort of worked for Matt in his whole “Cold Blooded” idea, but it’s not Hardy Boyz. This is Jeff’s version where he put lyrics to it, which is worse.

So I do think that sucked a little bit of momentum from them, the original Hardy Boyz theme is iconic, it’s impactful, and it sets the pace.

I’d like to think if Matt decides to stick around, they might put the time into a new Theme. But who knows what he’s going to do right now.

I really didn’t make much notes about the match itself, other than how good it was, but when they picked up the speed toward the end of the match, is when it really started to shine.

Not to mention Matt got to go out on a high, he might have been the one getting pinned, but least The Wolves’ offensive is so hard hitting, people will understand.

What is possibly more exciting is the advertised Wolves vs. Team 3D vs. Hardyz for the next set of New York tapings, that, I can’t wait for. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them push a Full Metal Mayhem out of them all too.

bluelineDJ Z vs. Manik vs. Low Ki – X-Division Qualifier

This match, right here, is what the X-Division is about to me. I know there are another two matches on the card, but these three stole the spot light.

And they gave each other time to shine. All eyes are on the returning Low Ki, who is just awesome, I love Low Ki. But DJ Z draws the short straw, but he backs up his unusualness in the ring, and it’s great to see him get that time. A lot of the time he falls into the weak gimmick, much like Robbie E, but he’s a big threat, and very credible, so I appreciate him having his moment in this bout too.

I’d have preferred to see Tigre Uno thrown into this mix, and much like every week, it’s Tigre Uno’s position that is frustrating me. More on that later on.

In the end Low Ki is the one who picked up the win, defeating Manik no less, which further established Low Ki’s current threat having defeated DJ Z last week.

bluelineSanada vs. Brian Cage vs. Crazy Steve – X-Division Qualifier

It was actually quite a treat to see Brian Cage back after last year’s unsuccessful Gut Check outing. But despite being impressive, I just don’t find appealing as a Wrestler. His physique is his downfall. I just don’t feel there is a place for that kind of breed of Wrestler anymore, unless you are at the top of your game, like Bobby Lashley, otherwise you fall into the “I don’t know what to do with this” category, like Rob Terry.

Cage can move quick for a big man, but I don’t want to see that. As an example, Cage next to Crazy Steve, is just no comparison. Steve is appealing instantly, he’s got a quirky character, he moves perfectly to fit his character, he’s good in the ring, but he’s also highly entertaining, I’m already rooting for him, so there’s no competition.

Sanada (ironically for a Japanese man) is actually a fair bit taller than the majority of the X-Division competitors, he’s a big guy. But he exemplifies the X-Division style, so he’s a great fit (also glad he’s sticking around longer).

Speaking of Sanada, Storm kicked off the match by talking smack on Muta, and then introduced Sanada, with Storm now in the position of Sanada’s new mentor. Which seems absurd.

I don’t really like Storm in this position, but hey, it’s Wrestling. Whatever.

It will bug me that Storm isn’t the top heel though, because his potential is huge. Though not currently against Lashley, but one day.

In the end, Sanada picked up the win.

bluelineYes, TNA is teasing new stars! Which seems silly to sign new Wrestlers, and re-sign current talent, if they’re going out of business. Guess what folks, they’re not going out of business! Woop!

Just maybe a new network.

I do know who this is, so I wont say unless you want to know!

bluelineSamoa Joe vs. Tigre Uno vs. Hernandez – X-Division Qualifier

This is why I hate this match.

Tigre Uno is the filler. Tenay kicked off the match by once again praising Uno’s ability, and how close he’s been of late to winning the X-Division Championship. But there is one thing that tells the story of this match, and that’s Joe’s return to the X-Division, followed by Homicide’s return.

Never liked Homicide.

This puts Uno the odd one out, in a Division he’s arguably the best in. If Uno was against Manik, DJ Z, Low Ki, Sanada, Crazy Steve, that would be awesome.

Hell Uno vs. Aries, I want that match.

But here, he was just to throw around. It’s rather annoying if I’m honest, I think Uno is superb.

Joe took the win, making Samoa Joe vs. Sanada vs. Low Ki for the vacant X-Division Championship next week. My pick is Low Ki. Probably more hopeful than anything else.

bluelineAustin Aries vs. Bobby Lashley – World Heavyweight Championship

I think we were all fairly sure Aries wasn’t going to win this one. Lashley isn’t losing the belt till Bound for Glory, at the earliest. Which I would guess could be to Roode.

Aries impresses as always, but the thing that still seems odd, is that Lashley really isn’t all that established as World Champ, even now.

I’d much prefer he remain un-established than to have him cutting Promo’s every week about how good he is. But still.

I would like nothing more than to say that this match was match of the year worthy, but it’s not.

If anything, it bugs me a little bit.

Aries took himself out by missing his Suicide Dive to the outside, he hit nothing but Guard Rail, Lashley then speared him for the win.

Sure, this makes sense, but it’s also exactly how Jeff lost.

The difference is that Aries always does his suicide dive, whereas Jeff took a huge gamble by Swanton Bombing the steps, that was his downfall.

I’d prefer Lashley to be so strong, so unstoppable, that even when his opponent thinks they get the upperhand, and dish out their best moves, Lashley kicks out, and kicks out. Which in turn makes them take a risk, just like Jeff did, and that cost him the match.

This seemed less cool, and more like Lashley couldn’t win unless his opponent made an error.

So yeah, Lashley won.

bluelineOverall a good show, strong card, good matches.

But nothing quite ground breaking. The only storyline going on really is the Dixie Carter / Bully Ray mess that no one cares about.

Hopefully TNA have some big plans for when I imagine Dixie will be off of TV. MVP is out of the way. And it seems they are going more “old school” TNA. Which is a good direction, hopefully something works out. But then, it seems at the brink of every “new beginning” I’m writing, Hopefully. And still, no hope.

bluelineNext week should be good though, least with matches.

Low Ki vs. Samoa Joe vs. Sanada – X-Division Championship

Abyss vs. Bram – Monsters Ball

and EC3, Snitsky, Cyclone and Rhino vs. Bully Ray, Devon, Dreamer, and I hope no other ECW has been.

THE JOBBER BLOGGER #115 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 10/7/14

Jobber Blogger logo2

Welcome, my legions and legions, at least a few, fans! Yes, TNA IMPACT has commenced, and finally! FINALLY! We’re hitting the New York shows next week! Now you might come forward and ask me, hey, Jobber Blogger, hey, Dan, why no TNA News over on TNR? I’ll tell you why. Because everything was leaking about these awesome New York shows…. nearly 3 weeks ago! 3 WEEKS! Well two and a bit, but I like to be dramatic and exaggerate. Also who knows when you read this?

The fact is, TNA taped these shows and from the very early things I read, they were awesome! And that’s all I want to know. I don’t want any spoilers, and unfortunately the internet is riddled with them. So, I just decided to avoid reading anything related to them. Thankfully currently it’s old news, yes that’s right, next week’s show is old news. I HATE TV Tapings. It’s terrible. Live! That’s what you want. Filming two shows back to back also sucks, we know you did it, why keep everything on this crazy blurred lines “next week” “I had a week to think about it” blah blah black bollocks.

Was that too much?

too much face

So yes, I’ve put off actually getting started with Writing this in favour of drinking large mugs of tea and watching The GameOverGreggy show. But hey, there’s only so many times you can watch an American eat ridiculous American foods right. Am I right?

I feel I’m right.

i'm right

TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 10/7/14

Guess what everybody! Kurt Angle is no longer the Director of Wrestling Operations! Which was the role MVP somehow managed to get with a title that makes no sense. But he got fired and that job went to Kurt Angle, but he’s had a name promotion, he’s now the TNA Executive Director!

Yep, these titles mean nothing.

TNA’s Executive Director of Wrestling Operations will surely be next, with his replacement being The Executive responsible for Directing the Operations of TNA’s Wrestling Based Television Programming Schedule of allotted Time Slots and Storyline Developments for all on-air Talent and Television Tapings which MAKE NO SENSE!

Good title.

Kurt Job Title

It’s very nearly the world we live in

Kurt kicked off the show with his “Cheat Sheet” once more, yay! There’s a good characteristic of the guy running the show – the one who has no idea what he’s done.

Kurt Fish

I’m sure he’s used that line in court too.

Was that too much?

blueline

So Angle announced the matches which TNA over-laid with Video, so if the start of your show was utterly boring enough having some guy yet again stand still talking about the matches you’re going to see, we instead will therefore make it that bit much more exciting by putting video over the top of him. Oh Wait? Couldn’t you have just have done that in the first place to explain the matches on the Card, WITHOUT having Kurt read from a piece of Paper?

jesusfacepalm

To make matters worse, they re-dubbed Kurt’s announcement of the Knockouts Match, which just made the entire thing look so poorly made and cheap, and just, really, put a little more effort and thought into these things. It felt very “that’ll do”, we’ve put Reverb on Kurt’s obvious voice-over, so it’s close enough. Pfft.

So yes the interesting part was Kurt calling out Willow, and then calling Jeff Hardy “the most competitive Wrestler on the roster” which really, against the likes of Bobby Roode, James Storm, and clearly Austin Aries, it’s a little bit of a stretch. But Kurt wanted to reassure Jeff that he’s not MVP

Kurt not MVP

And certainly, that he isn’t Dixie Carter

Kurt Not Dixie

So with that being said, Willow can leave and Jeff doesn’t need to hide behind “violent” reasons of being “wrongly treated”. And yup, that was supposed to be the main theme of the show, it was just underplayed physically, and then with Mike Tenay’s constant ramblings on commentary about whether or not Jeff Hardy will show up just annoyed me a little.

blueline

Magnus and Bram vs. The Wolves – World Tag-Team Championships

So Magnus has shifted from the World Championship scene straight to the Tag-Team Championship scene by being teamed up with a new comer who is better than he is. So that’s something.

Not to mention a new comer who would be much, MUCH better off being teamed with the likes of Gunner or Storm (aside from the fact we’re all sick to death of Storm in new tag teams).

Here’s the problem, Magnus feels like the afterthought now. The Wolves are more impressive and entertaining in the ring. And Bram is just generally more entertaining, he’s very unhinged, he looks better, his music is better. He doesn’t wear a body warmer thinking it makes him look like a tough guy.

bodywarmers

So I’m Immature…. what of it!

Davey Richards (again) turned up the pace, getting a Sun-set flip on Bram, with Eddie doing the pin-with bridge for the Win. This led to Bram getting annoyed and attacking the Wolves straight after the bell with Magnus trying to pull him off of them. So I’d say Magnus and Bram might be getting the belts sooner or later. I don’t know if that’s good or not?

Bobby Roode (who already looks awesome) just with a few weeks back to being a baby face, but his music is cool and Roode is just awesome. Totally down with it.

I did like that Roode talked about doing anything possible to keep the one thing you want the most. Which at first thought was a little gay as I assumed he meant beating up MVP. But he was talking about his World Championship run, so that was awesome, it was Roode levelling with the fans as to why he did what he did. Which makes sense, not to mention he’s still (in my opinion) the best World Champion of recent memory, in any Company. Not sure if that holds its weight as a Face to the same degree.

Anywho, MVP came out in a wheel chair, Roode went on the attack, King got involved, EY got involved, Bobby Lashley got involved. Etc.

I like it because you sort of forget that MVP, King and Lashley was “going somewhere”. This whole – no one’s put together a stable like this before, for only a matter of weeks before they’re now irrelevant.

Which to me, brings forth the most interesting Question in this current predicament, “What is MVP’s Place in the Company now?”

He came in as the new investor, it was different, interesting, turned heel and all that crap, but it wasn’t “horrible” despite we’ve seen it I don’t know how many times before. But now, he’s just MVP. He has no power, he’s not really a Wrestler on the roster. I don’t know where he is.

I don’t see him rising up to the Main Event scene any time soon. I think that time has gone with his injury and a new direction (a better direction).

So what is there that is going to keep MVP in TNA? Because I don’t think just being a Wrestler in endless grudge matches, is going to be enough. Time will tell.

Austin Aries vs. Sanada – X-Division Championship

So first of all, I do apologise to Linda, I made a note of course to mention this match up last week, but then it’s sort of like, why?

Because nothing really happened, so it just made more sense to give the back story when I have the actual match to talk about.

Yes Aries sat down with Kurt Angle last week to talk about his re-match for the X-Division Championship since losing it to Sanada before Lockdown. And so Angle gave him his re-match. This led to Aries and Angle having this weird “mutual respect” kind of talk about wanting to Wrestle each other to see who is the best. Funny thing is, Angle said he wants that match, but Angle won’t be cleared to compete before his contract is up. He’s already (apparently) turned down a new TNA Contract, and he’s recently stated that his next Contract could quite easily be his last, so everything points to him being out of TNA by the end of the year. So no Angle vs. Aries. Besides, there’s only one person who would disagree with Angle, and that’s Angle. Kurt probably was the best Wrestler, but Aries holds that position now.

And let’s look at the facts for that opinion, purely with this very match.

It was AWESOME!

Of course if you’re a Wrestling fan, I don’t need to tell you it was awesome, hell if you were like me, you’d know it was awesome before the match even got started.

This puts Sanada in a great light, and obviously, just further increases the credibility of Austin Aries.

So it’s simple really, I was struggling to find reasons for why Aries could be the “Wrestler of the Year” again this year, but this match, makes up for all of those matches where he wasn’t even on the Show, because in one match, he’s out-done everyone else in the Roster for the last half of a year.

AustinAriesthebestSure we had James Storm talking to Sanada again, which I still feel is really out of character for the Cowboy, but I hope they have a good “development idea” for that story.

Also something else which was pretty awesome, there was one hell of an Austin Aries chant going on during Sanada’s entrance, and that Chant fit Sanada’s music perfectly!

Another reason Aries should be at the top, no-one else draws that much of a reaction, and it’s entirely based on his Work. Doesn’t matter where he is in the card, what kind of silly storyline, Austin Aries = legit, and Wrestling fans know it. On the flip side you can say Jeff Hardy draws the biggest reaction, maybe so, but his fan base is totally different, not to mention, he can also draw a negative reaction, especially when pitted against Austin Aries. So it’s just kind of baffling why Aries isn’t always in the lead within TNA’s rankings.

So what about this match? Just freakin’ watch it.

Awesome stuff, Austin Aries picks up the win and becomes the x5 time X-Division Champion.

Which comes to a realisation I had, which I shall get back to later!

And of course, this goes down into the “Match of the Year category” without a doubt, probably the runner…. not that I remember the others… also a good sign.

Bully calls out Rhino, and Rhino comes out with EC3 and Spud. So I liked the “shoot” kind of feel about this confrontation. Aside from the fact it’s firmly stuck in Storyline “whatever”. They mentioned Paul Heyman, WWE, being fired from TNA, all kinds of stuff, it’s cool. But also, somewhat irrelevant.

One thing I’m 100% against is that everything needs to be done for “reasons” and that people need to know them. I’ve always hated that. I like the fact that people want to know, but then why tell them? So Bully was over-bearing with his “WHY!!!!” “WHY RHINO!” “You were my friend” crap. I hate that too, especially from a guy like Bully Ray. He shouldn’t be after answers, it should be as simple as “I don’t care why, but I’m going to beat the crap out of him anyway”. Done.

In the end Bully got attacked and Tommy Dreamer came to his rescue. I also hate that the ECW guys have this “reoccurring” thing every other year or so. For someone that doesn’t give a flying crap, I’m even more sick of seeing it, again…. again…. again. I have a horrible feeling we’re not seeing ECW has-beens, and I’m sure it’s not the last time they all come out to play… again.

Angelina Love vs. Brittany vs. Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim – Knockouts Championship

Totally legit complaint that Angelina didn’t get a fair one on one re-match for her Championship. I know it’s storyline crap booking, but it just makes no sense. If you have a face fighting Champion, or face wanting a rematch, and they WANT as many challenges / opponents, fair enough. But to screw them out of it, and then they’ll just play it off as Angelina complaining. But if she was a face then it’s “this isn’t fair!”. Meh, you’ve made the rules, stick to them.

Brittany was very impressive in this match, which is awesome. We need more Knockouts with interesting characters and awesome in the ring. The ending of the match was quite an eye-opener. Brittany ran and jumped over Gail did a handstand into the ropes, bounced back into a standing Moonsault, which was impressive. Madison then dropped Brittany with this over weird hug, trapped head, drop thing. Madison then got took out with Angelina’s awesomely cool Botox Injection, for Angelina to then fall prey to one of the most Creative Finishers – Gail’s Eat Defeat.

The majority of the guy’s finishers suck in comparison to all of those.

Not to mention I believe Gail is now a x4 Time Knockouts Champion, Madison x5? Angelina x6. Which makes the Knockouts Championship, and the X-Division Championship the best Titles to hold. Also the Tag-Team belts too, with actual Teams, like Beer Money back in the day.

So you have developed Wrestlers, in this very competitive focussed Division and not everyone has Championship runs, some have a few, and the best have a lot. That’s how it should be.

Look at the World Championship Scene, Austin Aries, once, Bobby Roode, once, James Storm, once, Eric Young, once, Jeff Hardy twice with a possible (won back quickly), Mr. Anderson once (with a quick win back I think?), Bully Ray, once (again with a quick win back, so doesn’t really count). The list is sooooo long. It’s stupid. AJ Styles, Sting, Kurt Angle, these guys held the belt a lot. But now it’s flavour of the month territory, whoever fits. Magnus was supposed to fit, that’s gone. It’s a mess.

Things seem to be shifting in Roode’s favour, especially with the Bound for Glory series up and coming, so he might actually (eventually) and hopefully get there again. But hell, I want Aries there again. They rotate the players so much that over half of their roster at some point has been World Champion once. That sucks. I get that you have a lot of good talent, but people reach limits, then drop so quickly, the turnover is far too great. Yet when you have guys who should always be in an arms length of the belt, they should remain with that distance. Rather than going off of TV or just being shoved in some stupid storyline or naff tag-team.

20 Man Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal – World Heavyweight Championship Number One Contender Match

I didn’t bother Writing down everyone who was in the match, because it’s not relevant.

Jeff Hardy came back which was supposed to be the big part of the show. It kinda worked… just not enough.

The only thing I like about that, is it gives Jeff enough time to be Jeff, so that one day, he can bring Willow back should he need to go to that “certain place” for a crazy match.

Crazy Steve was the first eliminated, that sucks. We’ve barely seen him do anything, yet he has a huge followed, an awesome character and people want to see him. Yet The Freak has a good bit of TV Time in this match, and he’s terrible.

Knux seemed to injure his leg I thought, not heard anything (but then not been looking?) hopefully he’s alright. I honestly hoped for a faceoff between Knux and Bully as a “look where we are now” type of moment after the Aces and Eights.

Abyss (who wasn’t in the match for some reason) came out to fight Bram. Storm and Roode seemed to be trying to build toward something, but it just got passed by. It’s weird how Roode is becoming a top Good guy again as Storm is now the top Heel (in my opinion).

In the end it came down to Eric Young and Jeff Hardy. It’s almost difficult to now look at EY as a threat, I know he was Champion at one point in time, but really, what’s the point now. Is he ever going to get there again?

Also what if he did win, Lashley would just go through him with ease.

So yes, the returning Jeff Hardy won the Battle Royal and will go on to face Bobby Lashley next week for the World Championship. I bet he doesn’t win, and Kenny King gets involved, and then the Hardy Boyz reunite to fight them… probably.

Jeff gave a promo after his win (and I really didn’t miss those) where he described himself as “Extremely Rougher than most” which I think amounts to “nothing really”.

jeffrougherthanmost

Lashley then came out and stood facing him. Which is better than a fight, I like a good stare down, and really, Jeff shouldn’t even stand a chance.

I’m excited for the New York shows, and you should be to!

The Jobber Blogger #112 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING 19/6/14

The Jobber Blogger

What do you mean it’s up late! What’s up late! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!!! Well okay, so it’s a little late. But guess what, some of us have a life you know, and although most of mine revolves around wrestling and comic books and video games and oh my! But yes, sadly this week’s edition is a little late to leave the press-room. I have a good explanation though… I went away for the weekend, it was great, thanks for asking. I crammed in Impact on Friday but didn’t get home till Monday, then busy day Monday, yes including work, and same on Tuesday, and so here we are! Wednesday, and it’s The Jobber Blogger time!

Speaking of The Jobber Blogger time, I am officially hitting 2014 in the face with my face, I’ve started my very own blog page… hopefully that works wonders. Yes –

It’s time to kick it up a notch!

Impact Wrestling LogoTNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 19/6/14

I love the 19th.

But, did I love this week’s edition of Impact? It’s all starting to come back to me now, and yes, it was pretty good. BUT! And a big but, I might add, it did feel a little “short” in comparison to the greatness that was Slammiversary.

Let me fill you in on the reasons, Slammiversary was TNA – full force, Wrestling, Wrestling, Wrestling, and guess what, a show packed with Wrestling with the best locker-room in the industry, that makes one hell of a great show. So to come off of that and have Impact, albeit a good show, but it was less Wrestling and back to the ever flowing Storylines.

Part of me is getting a bit bored of MVP’s current ordeal, but hey, Impact shakes things up, so let’s go with that.

MVP, Lashley and King kicked off Impact, something I really didn’t need, but I get it. I just hate the format of “talking” and long, long, long repetitive talking to kick off a Wrestling show. Least we’re past the days of having Hogan stumble around on his announcements to boot. MVP was obviously “annoyed” over Eric Young’s successful title defence from Slammiversary. To add, MVP was also blabbing on endlessly about how he’s annoyed about the Board of Directors’ threats toward him. Some crap about this being his show, and he’s going to do as he pleases.

EY then came out, some weird Camera Angles later and they were just re-treading the same ground we’ve seen for weeks now. I don’t need to witness them yelling at each other. Either way, it did at least hit something worthwhile …. eventually.

Eric Young vs. Kenny King – World Heavyweight Championship

Yes, MVP wanted EY to defend his belt on the show, and Kenny’s “hot headed”.. ness, added to him making the challenge, and so the World title was to be defended right away.

Least on this show, it makes sense to have MVP talk it through before hand, it just find it annoying. Perhaps, they could have started the show with MVP backstage yelling about how much he’s annoyed and making the match as he walked toward the ring, and then boom, Impact starts, World Title match right off the bat.

Unfortunately the talking just gets worse and worse.

MVP and Bobby Lashley stayed at Ring-Side, which in turn brought out Samoa Joe, Austin Aries and the Wolves.

Obviously I didn’t expect Kenny to win, he’s a great talent and continues to impress. I honestly feel Kenny will play more of a role next month with Destination X. Either way, King set up EY for the Royal Flush, which was counted into a Small Package giving Eric Young the win, and retaining his World Championship.

After the match had finished however MVP, Lashley and King were still surrounding the ring, as MVP decided to take out his frustrations with the Time Keeper, slapping him around.

Joe, Aries and the Wolves came down to stop MVP’s assault on the Time Keeper which of course ended in a brawl. MVP then made Bobby Lashley vs. Eric Young in the main event, defending his World championship for the second time, and also placed Joe and Aries against the Wolves for the Tag-Team Championships.

All of this was at least good, it’s different than the usual, but it just took far too long.

– This is actually a re-edit, I got down to page four and realised I hadn’t mentioned the Firing of Earl Hebner. Earl Hebner got “fired”.

earlhebnerfiredtnaAustin Aries and Samoa Joe vs. The Wolves vs. Willow and Abyss – World Tag-Team Championships

I honestly didn’t expect Willow and Abyss to be a team in this match, I thought it would be the obvious, Bromans. But thankfully Willow and Abyss made for a more interesting dynamic.

Though did beg the question what happened to Bram and Magnus, but more on that later as it turns out.

Despite the fact that Willow debuted in the Lockdown Main Event, we’ve hardly seen him interact with other Talent. Sure he’s done it all as Jeff, but the new Character is a little weird, so to see it bounce back from other established stars was interesting, and yes, he did the crazy Back Plunge again.

I hope Willow and Abyss don’t become a “team”, I’m sure they won’t. Specially on the news that Matt Hardy is coming to the New York tapings to re-team with Jeff.

In the end it was in fact Willow who got singled out by The Wolves, and some double team moves later, The Wolves took the victory.

This is yet another sign that Willow really isn’t all that dangerous, clearly.

Dixie Carter and Spud made their way to the ring to call out Tommy Dreamer.

Dixie had such a negative reaction, that it really shows one of two things, either she’s really good at being a Heel, or there is something Wrestling fans just utterly hate about Women.

Very few people can just get under the fans skin to the extent that Dixie has. I would throw Vince McMahon (though he can easily swing to a face) and of course Eric Bischoff.

I’m fairly sure most people see Dixie as portraying a Character, but at the same time people do seem to think she’s the one making all the bad choices they hate. And actually removing Dixie will fix issues…. it doesn’t quite work like that.

So here’s what else is funny, Tommy Dream, Bully Ray and Dixie Carter all insisted that this House of Hardcore mess was not a “work”. Despite the fact that it clearly is, one, Tommy Dreamer works for TNA. Two, he wouldn’t turn up otherwise. And most certainly, three, he wouldn’t be given a mic, and then give a storyline fuelled promo that had absolutely nothing to do with why he was invited in the first place.

Wasn’t Dreamer supposed to be annoyed that Dixie screwed over his Main Event and his fans from his own promotion. Yet he spent the entire time talking about how great TNA is, and that Dixie isn’t the woman he once met who was passionate about giving back to the Wrestling fans.

Some crap about how he could see Dixie in her private Box at Slammiversary during the Von Erich’s match.

Either way, a good heartfelt Wrestling promo that touches on the real issues, always wins the fans over. And that’s exactly what Dreamer did, he won everyone over by talking about how great TNA once was. Dixie then kneed him in the Crotch, which was… better. Leaving Spud and mainly EC3 to beat up Dreamer. I guess this is just getting started right. Despite how absurd it almost seems to say Bully is working with Dixie (storyline) if Dreamer gets involved on Bully’s side, I believe Bully will turn all the more.

dixiecartertommydreamerThe Wolves vs. Magnus and Bram – World Tag-Team Championships

Yes after their successful defence earlier on in the night, MVP made the Wolves do double duty just like he is doing with EY. This time The Wolves had to defend against scary bearded man and George Michael.

magnusandbram

This is what I feared, we’re being told that Magnus is different, he put on some silly body warmer to look different. But yet doesn’t feel different at all. He doesn’t Wrestle different, he doesn’t fight different. It’s just Magnus. Bram feels different.

The best part of this match is the reasons behind it, Davey Richards was on fire (as usual) but in the end Magnus just attacked with a Chair, and then Bram joined in, going to a DQ.

Abyss and Willow then ran to save The Wolves and also get their hands on Magnus and Bram.

After the match thought, we saw Magnus and Bram backstage who said that they weren’t out to Win a match, just to beat up The Wolves, and had been paid to do so. See, I like that.

Then Willow and Abyss attacked them again, including Willow diving in the air screaming… which was kind of cool.

Because Gail Kim is a good now all of sudden for some reason, she re-introduced the returning Taryn Terrell, based on the fact that Gail and Taryn had their infamous “Last Knockout Standing” match last year at Slammiversary, Taryn had gained Gail’s respect, and so she wanted to welcome her back. Which is funny because after that match they were still feuding, so Gail wasn’t that pleased or “won over” apparently at the time. Is that too picky?

tnagailkim2014

But because Taryn beat Gail, then Gail beat Taryn, there was no “tie breaker” match, and so the challenge was issued.

The Beautiful People then turned up, stating how Angelina is the leader of the Knockouts Division. Of course they ended up fighting, with Taryn and Gail getting the upper hand. I still kind of hope for Taryn to join forces with the Beautiful People, but who knows.

Maybe Madison will eventually be “if you can’t beat them, join them”.

Bobby Lashley (w/MVP and Kenny King) vs. Eric Young – World Heavyweight Championship

Yes, MVP made the stipulation that everyone else was to escorted out of the Arena. The only people left would be Bobby Lashley, MVP, King, EY and Brian Heber.

Brian was used in this position given all that went on with his Dad being “fired” and same old same old.

EY made a phone call to Kurt Angle to help him, Angle turned up but got held with Security, Lashley and King. All Angle said was “what are you doing MVP?” then MVP kicked him out, so a big waste of a phone call there.

tnakurtangle2014

EY actually managed to hold his own against Lashley, least for the main part. Which sort of sucks. I’d rather see EY have a chance, but for him more so to get beaten down, yet keep fighting. I would prefer that, rather than Lashley actually nearly being beaten.

EY hit the Pile-Driver on Lashley, but Kenny King pulled Brian Hebner out of the ring. In the end though, it was EY who missed his Elbow Drop only to be speared by Lashley, to then get the three count, and now Bobby Lashley is the new World Champion.

Kenny King then puts EY’s arm in a chair and starts to attack when Bobby Roode jumps the Guard Rail and everyone backs off. Yes, Roode is back from his suspension and even had his awesome “Off The Chain” music playing.

So let’s break this down.

One, it bugs me Roode made his return this way. Awesome to see him back obviously, he’s one of my favourites, however Roode surely could have helped EY before he lost the Belt?

Two, Lashley shouldn’t have had a hard time to defeat EY, would have been better if Lashley just wore him down and beat him up. Just like how he made quick work of EY before Slammiversary.

Three, it sort of sucks EY has lost the belt, they could have dropped the Belt at Slammiversary, which makes you think perhaps the original plan was to have MVP take the gold. Given that he won’t be cleared to Wrestle for a little while, the plans needed to change. Also dropping the belt on Impact would be more unexpected, and a Live Crowd helps.

Four, and this is the best one yet. TNA got a lot of stick for dropping the Belt on EY the very same week the WWE dropped their belt on their hairy bearded underdog. So now, you hear the rumours of Brock Lesnar making his come back to the WWE to properly Main Event Summer Slam for the World Championship, no doubt he probably winning also. So who better than to have Bobby Lashley, Bobbly Nobbly’s and all be the TNA World Champion, for TNA to say “look who is copying who now!” in TNA’s ever growing immature attempt to be relevant against the competition.

bobbylashleytnaworldchampion

Either way, it was a good Impact, a little odd, nothing anywhere near as exciting as Slammiversary, but whatever.

Lashley’s World Title victory didn’t feel all that relevant, but I look forward to that more so in this week’s coming show. It’s when TNA hit New York (and we get to watch the shows) that will be special. It’s in New York, the 6-Sided Ring is coming back Full-Time, Matt Hardy, loads of stars coming back, should be awesome!

Till then!

The Jobber Blogger #107 – TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 22/5/14

Jobber-Blogger-logo2

The Jobber Blogger

This might be a first, it is currently 1:42am, and I am settling in for Writing up The Jobber Blogger. Yes, it’s late, I know. I do like the routine of Writing this up by Sunday at the latest and then it’s ready to go as soon as Impact airs in the UK. Though for those unaware, it is Half Term time…. in May. When the hell did this happen? I don’t remember ever having so much time off when I was in school. They’ve only just gone back from Easter! Weeks, that’s all it’s been and now the bloody kids are off again and I have to work more! Though in turn they are keeping me employed by actually…. turning up and creating business. Without the holidays my work would be rather quiet indeed!

And no, it’s not a camp, or weird Children related industries. It’s a Cinema, sure I’ve mentioned that before. Who cares.

Impact is same old same old this week, and no that’s not a “bad” thing…. it’s just not a great thing.

It’s different enough to feel different, and that is a good thing. Impact Wrestling

TNA: IMPACT WRESTLING – 22/5/14

One would hope that The Jobber Blogger will be up on time next week, but hey, not enough of you send this around for it to be a job! That’s a joke… I don’t think I can get paid by ranting about Wrestling shows…. what’s that, you can?

Well I’m probably not at “that” level, I like things my way, and to hell with talking about the show and reviewing the show and giving things Ratings. Stupid, irrelevant, pointless. Opinions! That’s what matters, mine isn’t better than yours, but I wrote my down, so suck it.

One thing TNA has been doing lately to piss me off, is the use of Kazarian. It seems it’s becoming a tradition to send out your Stars the worst possible way. AJ Styles, big title push, kick him off the show, bring him back, screw him over. Sting, sent out in a equally humiliating manor. Kurt Angle, injured at every step. And now, Kazarian, who had to job to Knux, run around Crazy Steve, and this week, the show kicked off with MVP, Lashley and King arriving. Kaz was on the phone with a “hang on Chris” which was a nice little touch, then he got beat up by Kenny King. Was that Kazarian’s last ever bit of work for TNA, getting beaten up for looking at a black guy. I’m going to miss Bad Influence, and hey, I’m not stranger to Ring of Honour, but we already know Christopher Daniels is going back with a “mystery” tag partner, who we all guess is Kazarian, so if they both turn up, I’m going to watch….. probably.

So MVP, Lashley and King kick off Impact, I do wish they didn’t push this little opening. They didn’t really explain any motivations for their “Heel turn” aside from just – Money, Power, Respect.

I don’t think having each of them take it in turn to talk about themselves and why they did what they did really achieved anything. But hey, been there done that storyline, why make anything else different?

I like a good Heel turn as much as the next guy, but what I like better is when it doesn’t need to be for reasons, that require said individual to walk out in the opening of the next show and explain why he isn’t a sell out.

Lots of ass-kissing, visionary this, money power that, a mention of “Dat Paper” later and The Wolves come out to confront MVP.

Now if The Wolves were aligned would have been cool, but then of course it would be better if they were black. Again, not in a racist manor, but I think that’s cool, I like that.

The Wolves did the usual “we looked up to you”, thankfully a good mention of “once they were like brothers” was not in the script. Though it was mentioned later on between Davey and Eddie themselves, don’t think I didn’t spot that, TNA.

MVP called Davey, Eddie, not sure if that was a joke or not, or just a plain human error… I chuckled a little, though if it was the other way round and Davey called MVP, Kenny by accident.. well that’s just a whole different level of BooBoo.

Lashley then Speared Eddie in the ring, and MVP walked Davey to the edge of the Ramp where Lashley speared Davey off the Ramp through a Table on the floor. Awesome way to start the show, aside from the inane chit chat, a good bit of Stage Throwing does wonders for my Wrestling appetite. Dat Paper

Just when you think you’re done with the Opening Dialogue of the show, Eric Young came out to talk about MVP. So yay, that happened! And then straight away MVP, Lashley and King are back out. It’s not Total Nonstop Promo, level’s of bad and annoying. But Wrestling damn it. You have no idea how good a Wrestling Match is to kick off Impact. Start the show with The Menagerie, that would be neat.

Anyway, good ol’ respectable Champ Eric Young jumped to the name calling game, Scumbag, Sell-out, words thrown around. Who cares! Why do you need to put names on people you don’t like. Surely calling them out to call them names is as childish as rolling on the floor trying to punch each other… oh wait.

They all get a fight, Austin Aries runs out to EY’s aid, set up matches for later. Couldn’t they have done this before? Why didn’t EY or Aries help out poor Davey. Meh, whatever.

Angelina Love vs. Brittany – Knockouts Championship – Open Challenge

Angelina offered out this Open Challenge, which is only for those who have never held the Knockouts Championship before. Of course this was played as Angelina “dodging” the competition. This also annoys me. What is it, a Month or so since The Beautiful People reformed, Angelina came back strong, not taking any crap, said it straight as it is. Took the fight to Madison, beat her up, took the Belt from her, she was dominating the Division, and now she’s scared of everyone, in how many weeks?

Why is it that she’s running away from Gail, and Gail is no longer backing down from anyone, Gail has been backing out of fights for years. I get it, Wrestling, good guy, bad guy. But it doesn’t make sense, and I don’t like it.

I want a Champion who is a Heel, who is dominant, and won’t run, won’t budge, and kicks ass. James Storm – World Champ, I want it.

As much as this might “irk” me a little, there is however a silver lining, a word that allows the complete 180. This does suck, Velvet a little help BUTT

Indeed, this does suck, But, Velvet did point at her rear whilst saying the Word but. I don’t know why, but I’m not afraid to admit that I “lol’d” a little.

So yes, Brittany accepted the Open Challenge (who else is there…. really, who is there?) though perhaps if it happens again, then Taryn Terrell might turn up, so if Angelina does defeat Gail, then my money is on that return.

Regardless! Distraction from Velvet, Angelina wins etc etc. With her almost losing to Brittany, but thanks to Velvet’s distraction didn’t, again, I get it, good guy, bad guy, etc, but really? butt really

They put some lipstick on Brittany, which I thought was a nice gesture, bag on the head, Gail out, fight. Usual stuff. Angelina vs. Gail at Slammiversary? Angelina better win.
Austin Aries vs. MVP

So this happened, a Rematch from the first time they fought. So it seems Aries is back currently. I don’t know who long for, but just having him on TV makes the world of difference. Oh how I’ve missed Austin Aries. I do think if things carry on the way they are, then Destination X could be very interesting for Aries.

Though I’m probably wrong.

As much as I’d love to say this match was great and Aries is back on point… it really wasn’t that special. The usual match, Aries throws around MVP, because he’s a bad guy now, so he gets beat up more, it’s a conscience thing. One might even say Con-Science. But also probably not.

Aries was in control went to hit his 450 Splash, King and Lashley both came out to attack Aries. EY then back out to help.

Dixie then turned up with EC3, and finally confronted MVP, offering a delightful question of “what I can do for you”. Which is much better, Dixie wanting a united front between her and MVP. Though it could turn out to be a suckered MVP in and then take over once more. I don’t know anymore.

Bully wasted no time in going after Dixie, but it was King, Lashley and MVP who beat Bully down, with EC3 putting Bully through a Table.
Magnus (w/Bram) vs. Willow – Falls Count Anywhere

I do feel that this might boil over to Magnus vs. Bram, and suddenly I’m rooting for Magnus. When did this happen. Willow sucks at this point. He’s just Jeff Hardy, being an idiot, getting thrown around whilst he screams like a woman. There’s a phrase for it…. looked good on paper

Bram Flakes wasted no time in shouting at Magnus to hit Willow in the head with the, crow pliers, thing. “Cave his head in!” in a lovely British tone, reminds me of the recent elections.

Alas, Magnus swung for the gut, but wouldn’t and couldn’t bring himself to hit Willow in the head, which is a good thing. And then Magnus lost, once again doing the right thing, and paying the consequences… he’s like Spider-Man.

Sort of.

Spider Magnus Eddie Edwards makes his way back after being with Davey in the “hospital”. He then calls out MVP, Lashley or King for a fight, King answers and they brawl.

I actually like King a lot in this position. I’ve always been a big fan of his, but he’s struggled to find his place. Even being a bad guy recently didn’t quite feel right, but him being a hot headed, slightly unhinged guy running with the power. I like it. I even like his silly cackle, laughing at people who get injured. Also this segment does a lot to put over Edwards, another good move to balance out the playing field between he and Davey.

Anderson and Storm met in a Bar to compete in a Drinking Contest. Anderson drank Water whilst Storm got drunk, then Anderson took advantage and beat him up. He didn’t take advantage and put the “moves” on Storm, like most people would in that position. o.O I’m not quite sure what I admitted to in that sentence.

Storm love

Eric Young vs. Bobby Lashley

Main Event time and EY took to battle against Lashley. One thing I can say, Lashley = Impressive.

The more I see him in action, the more I like him. I’m glad he’s a big part of this puzzle, and it can’t do anything to hurt him going forward.

Pretty much the same outcome as MVP vs. Aries, only Brian Hebner was threatened to “do the right thing” by MVP before the match.

EY hit the Piledriver, King and MVP out on the attack. Lashley hits the Spear, and Powerslam, Hebner doesn’t DQ and Lashley pins the Champ.

Aries then comes back to EY’s aid with a Kendo Stick, though it didn’t phase Lashley, and MVP, King and Lashley all stood tall to close the show.

So nothing new, but I do like this Stable of MVP, King and Lashley. I actually hope it gets added to.

I do think Bobby Roode and or Abyss will come back to even the odds soon enough.

This might just be “sailing” along, but it’s not boring. I do feel MVP, King and Lashley are legit enough to sell this rise to Power better than the likes of The Aces and Eights and especially Immortal.

I hope TNA don’t look at “correcting” this for Bound for Glory, to yet another temporary power storyline leading into more of the same in 2015. Sick of it now, no matter who is in charge.

Till then,
